“Dance for Peace” was a youth exchange within the framework of the Youth in Action Programme organized by Ayuntamiento de Lorca with a collaboration of Cazalla Intercultural. This project combined workshops about peace education, conflict transformation, non-violent communication and dance. The exchange helped participants understand what role young people can

have in their communities and in the society to create and maintain a peaceful coexistence. The theoretical part of the main topic gave the group a deep perception of the concepts of peace education and encourage participants to act through the dance. The group worked together, combining the potential and opportunities to share and learn from each other.

Cazalla Intercultural organized a "Charming Youth" training course for members of youth organizations, students, volunteers and all young people from the whole country who were interested in the topic of racism and discrimination. The course aimed at creating youth spaces free of racism and discrimination.

During this weekend course the participants had the opportunity to understand the causes, forms and consequences of racism and discrimination, they created a space for reflection and for sharing experiences of their associations. They also developed skills such as empathy and understanding for the needs of the others, especially those from various minority groups.

human principles, belonging to bigger European or Asian societies while at the same time bearing all the specific

features of the personal, local or national culture to which they belong. The first phase of this project was a TC for facilitators which took place

I want to study Spanish to be able to communicate with people. This will give me the possibility to find good

friends and learn about the traditions and culture of this

country. But what is most important for me, I want to develop myself. I want to

grow up spiritually, culturally and morally.

I have to change my usual life: In Ukraine I had only my usual daily

routines like job, home, job, home again and again.

I wasn't so self-confident to change something. So with this project I

really want to change myself first, to become more open-minded and to start building my real life position.

Once a week, young people meet in a bar with the common desire to

speak in a different language for some time.

During every meeting a specific topic, chosen by the EVS volunteers at the beginning of the week, is discussed.

The objectives of these meetings are: to get to know people from other

countries and compare the different cultures.

The language exchange is a way to travel... without tickets, passports and

luggage!
