A Note from Donna
What an amazing history Vance Quilts R Us has! It
was wonderful to hear our Charter members at our
last meeting remind us of the important part of the com-
munity the guild has been. It reinforces that our organizations future is anything we
want it to be. I am very proud to be a part of such an intelligent, talented group of

Quilting Highlights
Guild: Started the Guild in 1990. Learn to quilt at GJC in
Greensboro in 1980. Have been addicted to the quilting ev
since. In 1995, started teaching at Vance Granville Commu
nity College and is still teaching two classes per week.
Favorite Quilt Pattern: 8 point star
Quilting Enjoyment: Piecing by hand
Favorite Quilt Author & Teacher: Jenny Beyer. Have all
of her published books
Cherished Quilt: 50-40 Fight in memory of my husband Ea
Peggy says quilting is my joy and life saver. It keeps me fo-
cused. Making charity quilts for children makes me very happy

by the energy and want to join us. We have already had our
first Charity Workshop and a computer class to help mem-
bers become more comfortable with the internet. Plans for
the future hold lots of interesting and fun events. We will
be having workshops, lectures, challenges, social events,
trips, do charity work and fundraising, and maybe even a
Quilt show in the next 2 years! There is no limit to what is
possible.Keep the great ideas coming!

Charity work has been a key part of
the Guilds mission since its inception.
Our charity work continues with
monthly workshops held the last Tues-
day of the month at Miss Lous from
10:00-1:00. Plan to join us on Tuesday,
March 26th. We willfind a task for
everyone, no matter your talent. So
mark your calendar now!
