Exciting chemistry experiments, soil and grass samples to become smart farmers, investigating pollination under microscopes and amazing robotic activities were only a few of the activities that the students had the opportunity to take part in. Thank you to UNE for bringing this amazing program to IPS!

This semester, 2D have been learning about all the wonderful and crazy stories of Roald Dahl. Students have delved into his wonderful creative world by reading, The Enormous Crocodile, The Twits and recently The Magic Finger. Students have explored and created art works, summary pieces of the gigantic, enormous crocodile and writing their own book about Roald Dahl. 2D has transformed their room into the creative world of Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake.
Sport Report Last Friday Charlie Wall, Kale Muhs, Liam Baxter, Jayden Budda-Deen, Sophie Greentree and Ella Gleeson attended the North West Touch Trials in Tamworth. In what were cold and tough conditions, the boys’ team went through undefeated, only having 3 tries scored against them over the 6 games. From the carnival, Sophie Greentree was picked in the North West Girls team to play at the state carnival in Week 6 of Term 3. Congratulations Sophie and all those students who attended. On Monday 3 June, Charlie Wall, Paddy Grills, Ella Gleeson and Sophie Greentree attended the 15 a side and Girls 7 a side North West Rugby Union Trials in Tamworth. All students performed exceptionally well, with Paddy and Charlie being selected in the Open’s North West Rugby Union Team and Ella and Sophie being selected in the North West Girls 7’s Team. Well done to those students! This week Jayden Budda-Deen is representing the North West at the State Hockey Carnival in Lismore.
We look forward to hearing of Jayden’s experience upon his return. This Friday Ella Gleeson and Sophie Greentree will be attending the North West Open Netball Trials. In what has been a busy term for the girls, we wish them continued success. Next Tuesday 11 June, the Open’s Rugby Union team, along with Mr Cross, will play in the Byran Palmer Shield. We wish these students the best of luck. On the same day, Ella Gleeson, Klancy Rogan, Hayley Latter, Jacqui Paton and Heidi Adams will attend the North West Softball Trials accompanied by Miss Doak.
