PRESIDENT’S NOTES
Hi Y'all,
Had enough of summer yet? I have. Too hot to do
anything. Tried to work on one of my cars, that didn't
last long, ended up in the Man Cave, A/C on & eyes
closed, think it's called a nap!!
Welcome new club members Harold & Cheryl
Hutson.
The club is making donations to our chosen chari-
ties, so if you can make it to any of those events, it's
a good feeling! Hope to see some of you there!
Keep Cool if you can.

MARK MAY HAVE SAID
Howdy LARC Club Members, Is it hot enough for Y'all...As usual, I'm just a little late getting this to our
Esteemed Editor. But here it is.
What Happened:
Aug. 14—Had a good and COOL meeting on the 14Th. as the Library air conditioner was fixed, Yea for us…
Aug. 17— At noon, Some of our Club Members showed up at Pack Saddle Elementary and donated a part of our Car
Show money. The little varments oops I mean children, came out to visit and thank us. Helping kids is always heartfelt.
Thanks to Keri T. for setting this up.... Also, this was Steak Night at the Eagles. Again this means good food and great
friends....
Aug 18—was our Cruise-In evening at the SSB and T bank. The weather was hot, but we were in the shade and we
had a breeze so it wasn't too bad. We had a lot of cars and trucks, also visiting spectators....
Aug 25—We had another Club event held at Johnson Park to donate to Camp Agape. A great showing from our Club
in people and Club Cars. Thank you all. This presentation is a real-life check event. Gives you thoughts to ponder. jus
sayin. Good for Camp Agape on what they do....
Aug. 31—Was the BBQ in Oatmeal. started at 5:00 and had parking for our Club Cars....(Ed Note: Great BBQ too!!)
Sept. 1—Was the Oatmeal Parade on Main St. in Bertram. After the Parade finally started, it was great. A whole lot
more people every year and this year was totally packed. we will do better in our planning for next year....Then we had
our Cruise In at the bank. A real full day. not a lot of participants but we had a good time....
What’s Gonna Happen
Sept. 5—Breakfast at Mama's (at the new location), then at 10:30 at the Kingsland Library for a Donation for the
Children's Reading Program. Even if you don't make breakfast, try to make the presentation because the local news-
paper will be on hand and this gives us great coverage for our Car Club in the Hill Country for what we do and repre-
sent....
Sept 7—At 4:30 is our Donation Check Presentation to the Kingsland Boys and Girls Club behind the Baptist
Church. There are lots of great parking so no excuses people, less you're out of state....Then y'all can drive to the Ea-
gles eat steak and have a lil drinky-poo and feel good about how well ya did for the kids....
Sept. 8—Car Show in Lampasas at the Storm's Drive-In....
Sept 12—Breakfast at Moma's......
Sept.15—Sat. Nite Fever at the Bank 5:00....
Sept.19—Breakfast at Mama's....
Sept 22—Comanche Car Show. Email to follow....Sept. 29 Evant Car Show. Email to follow........
I think I've got it all, might not but will not be here for the next meeting, Mr. Jim Rugg will be the speaker. please give him
the respect he deserves. this means since he is soft-spoken, keep your mouth shut and listen while he is speaking....
thank you sincerely, Mark...
Cyndy, after editing my last lines told me that this is way to brutal to say. I think she's right... So I'm adjusting a little,
When soft speaking Jim Rugg is talking "PLEASE" keep your mouth shut...Again thank you.

OOPS!!!!
Your fiendly editor should not try to edit his own stuff!! A big goof was putting the August Birthdays and Anni-
versaries in the September Issue of your Newsletter. Yes, I have had some feedback (think I’ll hire them on
as proof readers). Our President has cut my salary again and now Judy and I are living on baloney, rice, and
beans. Please don’t shoot the Editor, he’s typing as hard as he can. As penance, he is issuing this corrected
Issue, which has the September Anniversaries and Birthdays in it (including ours).

Charlie Dawn Campbell Griffith
September 30, 1977—September 3, 2018
Ron and Shirley Adwers’ granddaughter Charlie, entered the Lord’s Kingdom on Labor Day, freed
from her bodily prison. We club members participated in several benefit events for Charlie and her
children, some of the latest being a donation by the club to benefit her two children, as well as the
Benefit BBQ held at the Griffith Taxidermy shop. Let’s give Ron and Shirley, as well as Charlie’s
family continued love, support and prayers.
Charlie faced her affliction and handicap bravely. Let us remember her courage, and take joy in
her children’s accomplishments.
