MADD Night What a fabulous night we had here at Warners Bay Public School celebrating our wonderful students. The night kicked off

with an inspirational Acknowledgement of Country performed by our Aboriginal Leadership Group, accompanied by Audrey

in KH sharing her skills in sign language. We were so amazed with our beautiful Kindergarten Signing Choir who opened the

night of performances with the ‘Australian National Anthem’ and ‘Shine’. Next we had a display of tumbles and turns from

our Gymnastics Team who showed off their skills on the mini trampolines.

After Gymnastics it was time for some more musical talent and we ventured on over to the school library for an acoustic

performance from our school Guitar Group, showing off their skills on the strings. Following Guitar, over in the Hall, our

national placing Aerobics Team astonished crowds with their combinations of rhythmic aerobic exercise and strength. Turn-

ing back to some music, our School Choir created a joyous feeling that continued to spread as the Rock Band preceded the

performance with a rocking rendition of ‘Seven Nation Army’. The talent didn’t stop there as our Girls Dance Groups

brought us all under the COLA for a heart-warming display of grace and excellence before we returned to the Hall to see

our dynamic Drumming Group banging out an epic show. Last, but by no means least the boys showed us all how to move

during the Boys Dance Group performances and closed out the night with a fabulous finale.

All night our school was filled with amazing artworks from students across all grades. Early Stage 1 presented a display of

‘On the Farm’ art pieces sharing their visual knowledge from their excursion earlier in Term 3. Stage 1 shared a wonderful

display of their visual art masterpieces that they had all completed with their class. Stage 2 wowed viewers with ‘Van Gogh’

representations following their Term 3 study of ‘Day and Night’ and Stage 3 shared some ‘Picasso’ inspired portraits as well

as an exciting, interactive display of inspirational feathers.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful students’ who performed at MADD Night, you made it an incredible experience

for all. We would also like to thank all of our amazing students who created artworks for the night and those who came to

support their friends and families. Like every school event, the night would not have been possible without our families and

carers and we cannot thank you all enough for helping make our night so successful.

We invite all of our parents to complete a 2 minute survey about MADD Night. Type the link into your internet browser or

see the link on our Facebook page. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DH7PSN9

Have your Say—Before and After School Care

The NSW Government is committed to providing before and after school care to all students of public primary schools in

New South Wales. As part of the reform, a parent web form has been established by Service NSW that will enable parents

to tell the department about their specific care needs and to stay up to date with any new developments.

The information provided by parents will help the Department of Education to understand your needs, give them insights into

where there are gaps in service delivery and help to ensure the extra places are delivered where they are required.

Have you say today at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/basc.

Lego Group Last Thursday the children who attended Lego in the library learned to make Pacman Ghosts.

After they built the ghost they modified the eyes to give them different

expressions.

Library News Borrowing from the library will cease in Week 5 (next week) due to

stocktake with all books needing to be returned by Week 7. I will speak

to all students during lessons about outstanding books but should there be

any concerns, please contact me.

Happy reading

Mrs Freund

Canteen The Canteen will be closing tomorrow after lunch. Students can still make lunch orders and purchase over the counter at

lunch but there will be no canteen at recess time in the afternoon.

School Aerobics Spring Challenge Congratulations to our fabulous teams, who competed at the School Aerobics Spring Challenge last weekend.

The girls competed in the Primary Littlies and Primary Aerobics sections. Both teams performed new routines that they had

only just finished learning. This was a terrific opportunity for them to receive feedback in preparation for 2020. Both teams

placed 2nd in their sections. This was an absolutely wonderful achievement! Well done everyone!

Stage 3 PBL Reward Day Last week, Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6) celebrated their second PBL Reward Day. Students

voted for what they would like to do to celebrate this achievement, and the majority

voted for an Australian Celebration by the lake.

During the morning session, students walked down to the lake (opposite the Japanese

restaurant) to enjoy a picnic. We also played different games and tried our hand at

skimming stones.

Before heading back to school ,we stopped at Bunya Park to continue our picnic and

play on the equipment.

Once back at school, we all enjoyed a nice, cold ice block.

All students are to be commended on their excellent behaviour.

Well done Stage 3!

Photos Required for Year 6 Farewell Slide Show All Year 6 students have been asked (via the message section on our homework sheets) to bring in or email a selection of

photos of themselves that they would like to include in the Year 6 Farewell Slide Show. This slide show is played on the

night of the function. Only a small number of students have done so to date. Miss Jones will be pulling the slide show to-

gether in the next few weeks so we ask that everyone please get organised and select their favourite shots and get them

to Miss Jones by Monday 25th November (Week 7).

We have a copy of most students’ individual photos from Kinder to now (saved on our school drive). If you did not com-

mence school at WBPS in Kindergarten or the younger grades, please include some photos of this time at your former

school. Every student will get their own slide page with a collage of snaps showing them growing and changing form Kinder

to Year 6. There is never a dry eye in the hall when it rolls on the night.

Additional photos we are looking for include special days over the years – eg:

Excursion shots- Bathurst, Sydney, Oakvale Farm or the Reptile Park

Book Week Parade snaps

Education Week Performance photos

Athletics or Swimming Carnival pics

Showcase Concert Photos

Special events from over your child’s years at WBPS

Ones with you and friends from WBPS are the ones that often make the final slideshow

What format should they be in?

They can be scanned and sent as an email attachment to the school email:-

[email protected]

Please write attention Miss Jones – Year 6 Farewell- in the subject box

OR

They can be original photos sent in with your child’s name on the back. Miss Jones will scan them and then return the origi-

nals to your child.

We thank you in advance for getting the photos to us by the due date. If everyone gets them in early, we usually have time

to create a disc with the whole slide show on it. We give the disc to the students as a departing gift from us. This does de-

pend on everyone being on time though, as the last few weeks of the year are insanely busy for teachers and schools and the

window for preparing the slideshow and copying them to 60 discs takes quite a lot of time. Thanks in advance for being on

time.
