Let’s make Hay while the sun shines…... Hay time at Coonabarabran - Anthony Blackburn of Coonabarabran recently took delivery of a New Holland RB150 Superfeed Roll Belt Baler. Previously having his work done by contractors, Anthony felt it was time to have his own machine. The New Holland RB150 was put to work in his cereal cop and produced quality bales from the first bale. Pictured above left is Anthony Blackburn with Tamworth Technician Nathan Keel when the baler was installed and started. New Holland H7230 to Piallamore - A breakdown of his old mower conditioner lead Mark Stass to consider it was time to upgrade to a new machine for reliability reasons. An attractive change-over price has seen Mark choose a new New Holland H7230 Discbine Mower Conditioner. With a 3.16m (10’4”) cut and the 2 point hitch side pull this mower conditioner will make it easier to move around the farm and sheds. Mark’s quality trade machine has already been sold before we have finished the repair. New Holland RB150 Superfeed put to work at Mullaley - David Rose of Mullaley recently took delivery of a New Holland RB150 Superfeed Roll Belt Baler. David runs his own cattle breeding and contract spreading business. The machine was started in his neighbour’s Barley stubble and produced quality round bales giving David and his neighbours feed security for the next year. New Holland T6060 Elite to Top Waterloo at Walcha - After moving two tractors between three farms for a number of years and with both of these tractors starting to show their age Dave Benson and his family have decided to add another new tractor to their farming operation. A New Holland T6060 Elite was chosen with 132hp Common Rail engine for fuel efficiency and the tried and proven 16x16 Semi power-shift transmission for all general farm work from seeding to slashing and general loader usage. The tractor is fitted with Terraglide Suspension Front Axle for comfort, reduced fatigue and increased

front end traction. A Challenge AP38 Front End Loader completes the package and implements are interchangeable with their older tractor and loader. Pictured at delivery: Tamworth Salesman Tony Housden with Dave Benson. Another New Holland to Leemar Pastoral - Noel Swain has been a long time customer of Goodwin Kenny and the New Holland product. He recently was shopping for a tractor and loader combination to move the large square bales made after their harvest. Noel has chosen a New Holland T6060 Elite front wheel assist tractor with Challenge AP38S Plus loader. This machine has the 16x16 Electroshift transmission with Clutchless forward/reverse which is perfect for loading large square bales. Noel is pictured at left with the new tractor on delivery at Bithramere.

New Holland T8.410 SmartTrax to Breeza The Hamparsum family have been farming the rich Breeza plains for many years. The property “Drayton” produces both winter and summer crops along with Cotton. After having a demonstration with the Track machine John Hamparsum could see the benefits it could offer to his farming practices. John viewed the New Holland T8.410 SmartTrax at this years Ag-Quip Field Days. This machine is set on 2 metre centres and has the 18” narrow track system which suits the row crop farming that the Hamparsum family practise. After negotiations with Peter Kenny at Goodwin Kenny Gunnedah John took delivery of the New Holland T8.410 tractor trading their Case MX215 tractor. John is keen to put his “new toy” to work after his side tanks and other accessories are fitted. John Hamparsum is pictured at right with the new machine.

New Holland H7230 to Manilla Upper Manilla hay grower Steven Wood has upgraded to a New Holland H7230 Discbine Mower Conditioner. While the H7230 is not that much wider than his old mower, the increased ground speed of the disc mower will reduce his cutting time and with crop under a new irrigation pivot the Discbine will allow more timely cutting. The New Holland modular cutter bar allows repair of individual modules as required rather than stripping the whole bar down. Easy height adjustment and flotation setting for the cutter-bar make operation simple.

Another H7230 for Leon Long time New Holland owner Leon De Groot of Leon’s Pork at Gunnedah recently took delivery of a new New Holland H7230 Discbine Mower Conditioner trading a similar H7230 machine. Leon had no second thought of going for the same model machine again for his haymaking and contract work in the local area. Leon is pictured with his new Mower Conditioner.

SIP RAKES prove popular again this month ….. After a number of failures with their old twin rake Brian, Vicki and Todd Wilson of Tamworth have taken delivery of a new SIP Star 600/20T, a Twin Rotor Side Delivery rake capable of raking 2 single rows or moving 2 rows into one. The Star 600/20T is a robust professional series rake and good value. Todd Wilson is picture at installation and start up with Goodwin Kenny Hay Technician Nathan Keel where the rake performed well.

Seeing an older SIP tedder operating across the river has helped Dwight and Geoff Gall at Manilla decide that a new SIP Spider 815/8 Pro Tedder was going to assist the drying of large cereal windrows quicker and more efficiently. The Spider 815/8 has a working width of 7.85m meaning 2 full windrows can be tedded in one pass. Dwight was very pleased with the result and having hay in bales/sheds before rain.

Last month Richard Tonkin took delivery of a new New Holland T4.115 tractor and a H7230 mower conditioner. This month we have delivered and installed a Muller 15 Bale Accumulator onto his New Holland 568 small baler that was serviced in our workshop before delivery to the farm. To move the packs from field to trailer and shed Richard has purchased a Grab with Side-shift, made locally by Matt Forsythe at 4FAB in Tamworth.

Keeping you up-to-date: Goodwin Kenny is happy to support local events and recently assisted with sponsorship of the New England Antique Machinery & Heavy Horse Field Days in Armidale-12th & 13th November. The organisers were pleased with the event and sent a couple of photos to me - Bob Taber in front of our banner and one of the engines on display. On 19th November I travelled to Walcha for the Open Gardens with

the Tamworth Cottage Gardeners. We had a great day out visiting the six beautiful gardens on display at Orandumbie-Daniel & Carnie Kermode, Sallywood-Jim & Jules Young, Branga Plains-Manager’s Residence-Keith & Sue Hourigan, Branga Plains Homestead-Guy & Suz Lord, Prairie Fields-Max & Julie Ireland and at Bungarra-Neil & Colleen Stackman. How generous of these people to open their gardens and how inspiring they were. It was also wonderful to meet and catch up with a few of our customers. On 12th November we joined the Rutter family at Werris Creek Golf Club to celebrate Jamie’s 30th Birthday. A fun night with family, friends and staff (past and present) mostly dressed in costume for the party. Jamie has been at Goodwin Kenny for just over 10 years and I have watched her grow from a shy teenager into a mature, caring and generous young lady with a wonderful sense of humour. She looked beautiful dressed as a princess - our Princess.

It has been very busy in the Workshop, Spare Parts and the Office during the Hay and Harvest season so all the staff are looking forward to a few days off over Christmas - please see our Christmas Trading Hours on page 2. We will be closed for the Public Holidays and both Saturdays - Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We would like to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
