SP13 Service Pack Guidelines Refer to the following table for service pack guidelines.

SP13 New release New SP13 is best aligned for POCs and new customer installations. Hotfix packs will be issued for this release.
SP12 Mainstream
release 1 Quarter SP12 includes the most recent features and is the
recommended target for any new upgrades. Hotfix packs will be issued for this release.
SP11 Mainstream release
2 Quarters SP11 is a mainstream release. Upgrading is not required for normal operations, but you can upgrade to take advantage of
new features. Hotfix packs will be issued for this release.
SP10 Mainstream release
3 Quarters SP10 is a mainstream release. Upgrading is not required for normal operations, but you can upgrade to take advantage of
new features. Hotfix packs will be issued for this release.
SP9 Retiring release
4 Quarters SP9 is retiring, and it will expire with the SP14 release. All existing users should prepare to upgrade to SP12. Hotfix packs will be issued for this release.
SP8 Expired release
5 Quarters SP8 is expired, and it is classified under deprecated support. No new changes will be issued for this release. Upgrading is required.

Voice-Based CommCell Monitoring - Early Release Feature
You can use voice-based monitoring for CommCell environments with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant on a smartphone or other device to monitor the health of a CommCell environment.
Using simple commands or questions, you can ask Alexa or Assistant for information about SLAs (service level agreements), failed jobs, critical agent protection status, and anomalies or unusual activities within a CommCell environment. After Alexa or Assistant answers your question or performs your command, it might ask whether you want to receive detailed information in an email that is sent to your Commvault Cloud email account.
Setup Requirements
You must have Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant on an Internet-enabled smartphone or other device.
The CommCell environment that you want to monitor must be registered on the Commvault Cloud, and its health data must be regularly uploaded to the Commvault Cloud.

Azure Key Vault Server Backup Support on the Edge Drive
You can use the AzureKVtoEdge workflow to back up an Azure Key Vault Server to the Edge Drive. The backup job includes Azure Key Vault certificates, keys, managed storage accounts, and secret files and is uploaded to a folder under your user name.
You can download the AzureKVtoEdge workflow from the Commvault Store, and then deploy the workflow from the CommCell Console.

Media Management
Index Server Load Balancing - Early Release Feature
The Index Server Load Report displays information about index load statuses, index load trends, and index size distributions across MediaAgents that are Indexing Version 2 index servers in a CommCell environment.
The report also includes a load balancing feature, which redistributes loads across all Indexing Version 2 index servers in a CommCell environment, to achieve optimal distribution of indexes across available disk space.

Storage Forecasting
The storage forecasting feature predicts when storage space for a CommCell environment's disk libraries, deduplication databases, and index caches may become full. To perform this forecasting, the system analyzes historical data use and available storage space, and accounts for future data growth within the CommCell environment.
If the system predicts that a storage space will be full within the next 30 days, or if a storage space is currently full, then the system sends you an email alert. You also can view the system's current storage forecasting predictions by accessing the following CommCell health reports:

DDB Disk Space Utilization
Index Cache Space Utilization
You can enable or disable storage forecasting alerts, and modify alert settings, through the CommCell Dashboard.

MongoDB Agent Support - Early Release Feature
MongoDB is an open-source NoSQL database that stores data in flexible, JSON-like documents. MongoDB also distributes the data using shards across multiple servers.
Commvault provides a single entry point (pseudo-client) that you use to manage your distributed Mongodb cluster and to perform IntelliSnap backup operations and restore operations.
Restore your MongoDB data to the same cluster or to a different destination cluster that has the same number of shards as the source cluster.

Service Pack Releases
Service Packs are a collection of updates released on a scheduled basis, containing cumulative hotfixes and updates since the initial release of a software version, for example, v10, v11, to resolve software issues and enhance software performance.
We recommend that you install the latest service pack to remain current with all fixes and enhancements; however, we fully support customers on the five most recent service packs. Thus, to remain fully supported, you must apply service packs at least every 6 months.
