The new year started with a great Network Learning Event, which was held at the wonderful conferencing centre, Red Rose Hub in Preston. Over 60 delegates attended the day which was hosted by Peter Renwick, who is an estab-lished mentor and coach. Peter has over 25 years experience in industry and commerce as an HR Man-ager and Director working in manufacturing, commer-cial television, music and satellite communication. Peter started his own business, Managing
Matters Limited, in 1993 and he is also a Preferred Trainer for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Most of Peter’s time is now dedicated to coaching and mentoring. The day was very interac-tive and involved various activities around mentoring relationships. Peter fo-cused the day on the differ-ent mentoring styles and levels of communication used by mentors and mentees. The event was received well by all delegates and gave everyone a wonderful opportunity to network with fellow scheme members. The next Network Learning Event will be held in Liverpool on Friday 11th April.

Website development The team are currently work-ing on a new, interactive website which will further enhance the support available to Mentors and Mentees. If you have any ideas or suggestions on the development of the site then contact the team on; [email protected] EMCC links forged The team have made contact with the European Mentoring & Coaching Council in order to investigate opportunities for accrediting the scheme and the Mentor Development days. Watch this space for more information over the coming months. Review Group Many thanks for all the Mentees who kindly responded to our recent request to join the North West Mentoring Scheme review group. We now have a full complement of Mentors and Mentees for this group and will keep members updated on any developments.
