Award to Phillip Konstandopolous I attended the ceremony, at Mildura Senior College last Friday, where ex-student Phillip Konstandopolous was awarded the Macpherson Smith Rural Foundation tertiary scholarship valued at $45,000 to support his studies.

CROSS COUNTRY

This was a great day for students and staff with Steve Morrish doing a great job with the organisation of the event yet again. It was pleasing to see so many parents coming down to the river to cheer on their children.

Assistant Principal’s Report

Mildura Senior College Alliance meetings This week all teaching staff from Irymple Secondary College met with colleagues from Mildura SC, Chaffey SC, and Merbein SC to look at data, assessment and curriculum development. This will be an ongoing project between all schools in supporting our students smooth transition into MSC.

Irymple SC and Feeder District Primary Schools Project This week a number of Yr 7 English and Maths classes have been observed by our primary school colleagues. Next week our Yr 7 English and Maths teachers will undertake reciprocal visits at respective primary schools. This project is being co-ordinated by Nat Mouvet from region and supported by our school's leadership team and Yr 7 staff.

ISC Uniform Committee Our group met this week to review the survey completed from parents, students and staff. Discussion on a range of options was undertaken - stay tuned as next week we have our next uniform meeting to discuss a range of options

Open Night I also want to acknowledge a big thank you to all students, staff and families for their wonderful support on our Open Night - we are currently showing a number of prospective families through our school and invite more families to contact the office if they would like a tour by the principal or assistant principal.

Congratulations to Year 7 students Patrick Carter and Ben Doherty, who have been selected to play at the Golf State titles.

Good luck boys!

Three of our students Deklan Loveridge, Connor Irwin and Georgia Leutner are running an All Abilities footy clinic on

Friday afternoons. It’s great that our students are willingly helping out others in the community.

Great Work Guys!

INTERHOUSE CROSS COUNTRY

Our Inter-House Cross Country run was held at Apex Park on Friday 17th May. With over 250 students participating in the event, the day was a huge success, with everyone having a great day. The weather was fine and which made the day an ideal one for running. The fine weather and effort put in by runners might also explain part of the reason why Anthony Ryan’s snags were so popular at the end. In fact they were so popular we ran out! Many students took the opportunity to run their best times while others chose to jog and/or walk the course at their leisure. Some excellent times were recorded with age group champions and placegetters on the day being: 13 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Bethany Hartwig (R), 2nd - Abby Kaiser (L), 3rd - Mia Andronescu (M) 13 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Zach Stainer (R), 2nd - Ben Doherty (J), 3rd - Bayley Kelly (R) 14 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Paige McLean (M), 2nd - Bella Walsh (M), 3rd - Claudia Fangaloka (J) 14 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Coby Mitchell (M), 2nd - Nick Brown (J), 3rd - David Rundell (M) 15 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Chloe Barker (L), 2nd - Brooke Hards (J), 3rd - Zali McMonnies (M) 15 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Archer Zambelli (R), 2nd - Jordan Stainer (R), 3rd - Julian Rayner (R) 16 Yrs Girls - 1st and AGC - Shae Gathercole-Mills (L), 2nd - Claudia Bozzi (J), 3rd - Ashlyn Archer (R) 16 Yrs Boys - 1st and AGC - Lochlan Lloyd (J), 2nd - Regan Kerslake (M), 3rd - Connor Carter (L) We have had some close finishes over the past few years, with 8 points, 2 points and 1 point being the difference over the last 3 years. As it turned out Middleton has jumped from 3rd last year to claim the title by a margin of 10 points. The final scores were:

Middleton 170 Points Roberts 160 Points

Johansen 145 Points Lloyd 139 Points

Congratulations to Middleton House, age group winners, place getters and to everyone who “had a go”! The first 7 place getters from each age group for both males and females from our I/H Cross-Country will represented the college at the I/S competition to be held on the same course at Apex Park next Wednesday 24th May.
