Open Evening

5.00pm-7.30pm

Some of our Y7 students have volunteered to help at our

Open Evening this week, please complete the consent letter

which your child should bring home or write a note in their

planner to confirm that you have given your consent for

them to support the Academy at this event. Thank you.

Last Weeks Word of the Week was Liberal

Under your Spell

During tutor time each week students

are being given a set of words to

learn independently. They will then

complete a weekly spelling test in

tutor time. Which year group will be top of the shop?

Academy Sports Fixtures

Last week saw the start of the football fixtures, with the Y8 boys

led by Captain Lewis Turner and the Y10 boys led by Captain

Harry Wilson playing CGS. Unfortunately both teams were beat-

en by strong opposition, however they demonstrated excellent

team spirit and were a credit to the Academy. This week Y8 & Y10

boys are playing football and the Y10 girls are playing netball, all

at DeAston.

Y7 Student Finn

took part in the National

Brisca Ministox World

Cup event on Sunday. He

started in 26th place,

2nd from the back of the

grid. He drove really

well, finishing 10th best

in the world! This was his

first season which makes his achievement all the

more amazing. Well done Finn!

Message from Mr Midgley We hope that everyone enjoyed the summer

break ! The new term is now well underway,

thank you to all our students and staff for a

great start to the year. Walking around the

Academy I have been particularly impressed with what I have

seen in the classrooms.

Please let the Academy know if your child is taking

part in an activity that we can celebrate.
