Better Safe than Sorry!Constables Corner
By Sgt. James Rouse
We have recently experience an increase in home burglaries in the area. The suspect(s) break the master bathroom window and make entry into the residence. The suspect(s) only burglarize the master bedroom, closet and bathroom area. Jewelry is the main item taken. Guns, passports and electronics are also taken. The burglaries have occurred at all hours of the day to homes with and without alarm systems. The suspect(s) are in and out in a matter of minutes. Some of the victims are only away from the residence for a short period of time.
HErE arE SomE HELPfuL TIPS - always set your alarm- Install a “window break” sensor on all windows- Store your valuables somewhere other than the master bedroom- Call the police when suspicious activity is observed
This is also the time of year for the garage bandits to steal your yard equipment. Keep your garage doors closed and obtain the serial numbers to your equipment. Don’t forget to keep your vehicle doors locked!
and a footnote from the board: LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS! Keep thieves away! recently some residents had their valuables stolen from their cars. Don’t become a victim!
Drought Plan at the last board meeting, the operator (Contractor monitoring and operating
our water supply) explained that the water supply was not meeting the demand of the district. If the tanks go to empty, this would cause the district to lose system pressure. If the system pressure is lost, boil water notices are to go out to inform the customers that the water has to be boiled until pressure is restored and the bacteria levels are checked and approved.
We are asking all Hoa’s to monitor their irrigation for placement of water and durations, not only during drought conditions but also to insure the water is not being wasted during non drought conditions.
under the current mild Drought for Lakewood Grove residents are asked to limit the watering of lawns to the following schedule:

FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DROWNING
For more information, check out our website at
www.colinshope.org
Drowning is the leadingcause of unintentional
injury-related deathin children ages 1-4
Drowning is the 2nd leading cause of unintentional injury-related death ages 1-14.
DROWNING WILL AFFECT YOUOR SOMEONE YOU KNOW
Most children are out of sight or missing for less than 5 minutes and usually in the presence of 1 or both parents.
NO ONE is “drown proof” – no matter their level of swimming ability.
Falls, entrapments, and injuries lead to drowning regardless of swimming level.
A majority of people overestimate their own and their child’s ability to swim, especially in a panic event.
5min
Drowning occurs in as little as 2 minutes.
Most children die who are submerged for as little as 6-10 minutes.
Irreversible brain damage occurs in as little as 4 minutes.
2min 4min 6min
Children who drown do not scream, splash, or struggle. They silently slip beneath the water, even with adults & lifeguards present.
DROWNING IS QUICK AND SILENT
DROWNING CAN STILL OCCUREVEN IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SWIM
