2 Autumn/Winter Edition - 2016

Autumn/Winter Edition - 2016

Back in April this year, we came across an article from our local hospital asking for people to knit ‘Twiddlemitts’ for Alezheimers and Dementia patients.

For those unfamiliar with Twiddle mitts , research shows that these simple knitted cuffs, with their added accessories are known to improve the wellbeing of people living with dementia, especially when in an unfamiliar environment like a hospital as they help to reduce anxiety and promote calm.

From seeing how beneficial these mitts are, we wanted to support this local cause, so joined in on the ‘Twiddlemitts’ action and delivered the first batch of 30 in May , to the Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital. Following this first delivery we were featured in the Bournemouth Echo for our attempt and then received some generous donations of spare wool from local Echo readers. So with plenty of wool to feed the creative fire we ran a

‘battle of the sexes’ challenge on who could create the most mitts during the month of July and after a month of head-to-head knitting the mitts have been counted with the girls having out-paced the boys by 18 to 12!! We are very thankful for the donations of wool we have received which has enabled us to donate another 30 mitts to the Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital.

We have now launched a Residential Desk, to offer career opportunities at Developers across the South Coast.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of two new additions to the team to take care of this new department.

Nathan Winfield returns to construction recruitment having spent a number of years working in property sales and running his own property maintenance and landscaping business.

He is tasked with launching the Residential division at a time when demand is higher than ever and is joined by Lamis Ali who will be supporting him as Resource Consultant. Lamis been working as the internal Recruitment Officer for a care provider and has joined FTS to build relationships with applicants who are looking for their next permanent career opportunity.

The FTS team welcome them both to the company and wish them the very best in their new roles.

Sky High Day Out

What we have been up to...

Here on the Southcoast a highlight of our year is the annual Bournemouth air show. Featuring some of the biggest, fastest beasts of the sky, the 4 day event is worth attending. We would like to thank the Bournemouth Marriott for their hospitality back in August. Head down to Bournemouth next year for the 10th Air Anniversary 31st August - 3rd September 2017.
