3rd Project meeting

Short-term exchange group of pupils.

IES Miguel de Cervantes

Seville – SPAIN

14TH-20TH February, 2016







This third meeting of the project was the second short-term exchange of pupils. It took

place between the 14 th to 20th of February in Seville, Spain with more than 77

participants: 17 foreign teachers, 29 foreign students, 10 Spanish teachers and 21

Spanish students. The full list of participants is included in an annex.

The meeting started with the reception of the guest students and the teachers by the host

families and the coordinator in the hotel for Polish team and at the airport for the other

teams.

The first day, the Spanish coordinator José Luis León went with the teacher partners

from the hotel to the school and showed them the different facilities. Meanwhile

students participated in warming up activities.

Official Opening Session of 3rd Project Meeting:

The act was presided over by Ms. Francisca Aparicio Cervantes, Seville Education

Delegate of the Andalusian Government, and take part Mr Juan Espadas, Mayor of

Seville; Ms. Adela Castaño Diéguez, Education Councillor of Seville; Ms. Clara

Isabel Macías Morilla, Macarena District Representative of Seville City Council; Ms

Rosa Llamazares, Headmistress of IES Miguel de Cervantes, Ms. Ayla Şavaşçı,

International coordinator of the project and José Luis León, Spanish coordinator.







Cross-cultural activities.

Students watched videos of different aspects of the cultural of the countries involved in

the project. The main items showed were: food, costumes, folk dances, festivities and

celebrations and cultural and historic heritage.







With this information students prepared questions to organize a cooperative QUIZ :

What do you know about your neighbour?

Another activity let the students to taste different traditional recipes from all the

countries involved.







At last day students learnt to cook the traditional SALMOREJO (Spanish cold tomato

soup) in a kitchen corner.

They had also the opportunity of learning different traditional dances that they showed

later to the others in the Farewell Party.

Finally, students and teacher had some visits in Seville and Granada and they had the

opportunity to know how three different cultures (Judish, Christian and Musslim) are

crossed in Andalusia and Spain along the history.







Cultural Aspects

During their stay in Seville, teachers tried some traditional TAPAS, they visited with

other Spanish teachers involved in the project the most important and famous quarters

of city. And they enjoyed with a Flamenco Show.

The host families also organized activities to let guest students to know the city.







Farewell Party

The meeting was over with a Party celebrated in the School where Spanish coordinator

thanked the great warm up and participation. The certificates were given, the families

offered delicious dishes. All the participants enjoyed in a big party with music and

dance.
