Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for your ongoing support. This last few months have been the most unusual experience. As the world grapples with the Pandemic, our school has continued to adapt and react to the challenges we have all been presented through this unprecedented time. We have all been affected and it has undoubtedly had an impact on every pupil in our school.
In September we will be open to all pupils once again. There will be differences to what we are used to and I ask for your patience as we adapt to the required changes. Over the summer the staff will be preparing for the new school year and we will endeavour to keep you informed of any updates and changes we will have to implement. Please keep checking the school website, Facebook pages and your emails and texts for updates.
Our children are brilliant, they have all coped in different ways through this crisis and we have now had many of them back in school. We are really looking forward to seeing them all in September. But this is also a sad time, as we say a very fond farewell to our current Year 6. They have been a brilliant bunch throughout their time at the school. I wish them all every success in the future. We will do our best to give them a good send off today, even if it’s not quite what we’d usually do. All of them are an absolute credit to you and you should all be incredibly proud of them.
I would also like to say thank you to our staff team. As ever, they have gone above and beyond to ensure that pupils have been able to access their learning, either at home or in school. We really do have a great staff team and I wish them all a restful summer. They have earned it.
Sadly, we have to say goodbye to some of our colleagues:
Mrs Price, well what can I say? Sam has been larger than life at Chillerton and Rookley and she has been the heartbeat of the school for the last couple of years. I wish her every success in her new post and I am sure all of you will want to thank her for the energy and effort she brought to our school.
We are also saying a fond farewell to our nursery team, Georgia, Katie and Jess who have all had such an impact on the vast majority of our pupils. I would like to thank them all for the service they have given the school and wish them all the best for the future.
We need to say a very difficult but fond farewell to Mrs Sweatman, our pre-school manager. Chris has been incredibly supportive to me and is part of the soul of Chillerton and Rookley. I’d like to thank her from the bottom of my heart for all she has contributed to our community over the years. I wish her well for the future as I am sure all of you will do too.
Mrs Lacey from the school office is also saying her goodbye to us this week. Sue has worked across the federation and I know she is looking forward to a well-earned break. Thank you for all you have done in your time with us.
Finally, we are also saying goodbye to Miss Harrison. Rosie has been an incredible support to many of our families over the years and we wish her all the best for the future and thank her for all she has done to help our school community.
Thank you all again for your on-going support. We have a great school, great staff and brilliant community to work in. It seems peculiar wishing you all a nice summer break in the circumstances. But I do hope you all stay safe over the holidays and I look forward to seeing you all in September.

SCHOOL DIARY DATES
Lots of fabulous things have been happening at Chillerton over the last few weeks and we have been really
proud of all the children. We have sent the most amazing letters to the residents of a care home in Lincoln
and we know the letters would have really made them smile. We have also written some very persuasive job
applications.
We would just like to take the opportunity to mention one of the children, personally, as he has been a
particularly good role model for the school. Archie wrote such an excellent application letter that the company
he sent it to would definitely snap him up.
Good luck to all Year 6’s its been a pleasure being a small part of your school journey. Wishing you all a
lovely summer break. Mrs Morgan-Huws and Mrs Price
Dear Archie,
Thank you for taking the time to write to Island Car Centre. your letter is full of enthusiasm and it really shines through in the message your are getting across. I would love to give you the opportunity to work here and I believe your passion would rub off on others and I particularly like the thought of lots of tea and coffee for me. Salary is negotiable and we will discuss this at a later date. I look forward to working with you and you joining our already highly skilled team.
Yours sincerely
Daniel Gomm General Manager Island car centre
It is with great sadness that I am writing my last newsletter.
I just wanted to say what an honour it has been to work here for the past 2 years. I am so proud of our fabulous little school and the wonderful staff and children. I will treasure the memories forever. Thank you for all of the support and kindness, as I move on to a new adventure.
I also want to wish the most amazing bunch of year 6 pupils all the best for the future as they too leave us today. They have been fantastic in lock down and since returning to school and they have never failed to make me smile.
Have the most amazing and restful summer. I look forward to hearing all about what fantastic things you will all be up to in the future.
Goodbye for now.
Mrs Price

Dear Parents, families and children
I write to you to say goodbye. I have had the pleasure of working at Chillerton &
Rookley Preschool & School for many many years. Right back in 2003 I began
working in the old preschool at Chillerton. It used to run in a mobile classroom on the
playground, where the climbing frame now sits!
I have loved every minute of my journey and I would like to take this opportunity to
thank all of the wonderful children and families for all of the happy times and
memories.
My own 4 children were privileged to have been able to have attended such a caring
and nurturing preschool and school. I am very proud that my eldest daughter Georgia
was able to come back to Chillerton to gain experience & achieve her degree in
childhood studies. She has been an absolute credit to our preschool & school.
It has been a pleasure working with an amazing preschool & extended school team
over the years, we have achieved so much for all of our little people. Making sure that
they have been happy, safe and had lots of fun! Very best wishes to all of the team for
the future.
I loved working with all of the children from across the school in our weekly Forest
school groups. It was magical! Thank you.
It was a privilege to have worked with many fantastic, dedicated and generous
parents over the years, being an active part of the PTFA. You have all done & do an
amazing job. Best of luck for the future. I will miss being part of this community, it’s
been a huge part of my life for almost 19 years since enrolling Georgia in the
preschool all of those years ago!
There have certainly been some challenges along the way, but mostly lots of
happiness and fun.
I am very sad to be leaving, however it is now time for me to move on. I wish
everyone at the school, in the local community, past families and pupils all the very
best for the future.
Reach for the stars little ones! ( and bigs!)
With Very Best Wishes from
Mrs Sweatman ~ Chris x
