Dear Reader,Our journey started a decade ago with the vision to make Pakistan “A Hepatitis Free Country”. By the Grace of Almighty we have grown in stature with the passage of time. A majority of people get infected with the diseases due to lack of awareness and prevention which remains inexplicably low globally. An estimated 18 million Pakistani population is effected with Hepatitis B and C. The prevalence of Hepatitis in Pakistan is the second highest in the world which is an alarming situation for the nation.
Challenges like the war against Hepatitis cannot be fought alone. Looking at the current alarming situation in Pakistan THF is focused on bringing together all public and private organizations working on Hepatitis by learning from each other’s experience and working in cohesion with each other. Keeping in view the numbers of increasing patients every year THF has increased its scope of work by holding screening camps and establishing multiple sentinel treatment sites to find and link the identified patients to appropriate timely treatment.

THF collaborates with MasterCard Aid Network aim to tap new Healthcare Delivery Model: THF collaborates with MasterCard and Gilead to jointly explore opportunities to simplify the delivery of Hepatitis C treatment in Pakistan with limited resources and high disease burden.
We used the MasterCard Aid Network, a non-financial digital solution that helps facilitate and tracks patient journey from registration till end of treatment.
The MasterCard Aid Network consists of Android-enabled devices, card readers, and EMV standard chip cards. These devices run specially built applications tailored to both implementer field staff and service providers. These were backed by MasterCard safety and security, non-financial, non-personalized “interactions” authenti-cated via PIN and processed entirely offline.
This initiative, which combines access to Hepatitis C treatment with the MasterCard Aid Network platform and THF's ability to deliver on the ground and its deep understanding of the healthcare industry is exactly the sort of public-private partnership that we needs to be strengthen further.
