BUILDING DEPARTMENT / CODE ENFORCEMENT
Building permits are required for storm damage repairs or demolition even though the
permit fees for same have been waived. Also, WPI1 is required for permitting of any
kind of structural repairs, to include, but not limited to, windows, doors, siding, and
roofing. All permit applications and a list of windstorm inspectors can be found on our
website at www.inglesidetx.gov or contact the Building Department at 361/776-3815. If
you have contracted with an individual or a company to do repairs at your home or place
of business, that individual or company is required to be registered as a contractor with
the City and to secure the proper permits for the work to be done.
With the extension of time for storm debris removal we have, as a community, an
opportunity to get those properties cleared of debris that has been left behind for
whatever reason. As you move forward with your daily routines please be aware that
some citizens are still waiting on their insurance adjustments, or FEMA, or assistance
in removing storm debris. We can help each other and our community by making those
who have yet to remove their storm debris aware of the new deadline of January 15,
2018. Any storm debris not put to the curb by this date will be the responsibility of the
property owner to have removed. Code Enforcement has begun sending violation notices
which will turn into work orders and could cost property owners additional fees. If you
or your neighbors have an issue in getting debris removed please make our Code
Enforcement office aware of the situation. Any communication is valuable as we move
forward with the Harvey Recovery Effort.
The City of Ingleside has seen an increase in illegal dumping throughout the City in
recent days. If you witness illegal dumping please contact the Ingleside
Police Department at (361) 776-2531 or Ingleside Code Enforcement at (361)776-3815
to report it. If you can provide a vehicle description and license plate number it would
help in the prosecution of these illegal dumping cases. If you have any questions you can
contact the Ingleside Code Enforcement Department at (361) 776-3815 Monday through
Friday from 8 am to 5 pm or use the “Report a Concern” option on the City’s website
found at:
http://inglesidetx.gov/report-a-concern/
