To Our Friends,

God is moving and we are moving with Him. We stand amazed as we watch Him move, feel His touch and have His way. Inside each of us, we have a desire to be a part of something greater than ourselves. We long to embrace the supernatural in a natural way, knowing it was the hand of God that reached out and touched us. Many times, God works by using each other. He has called us to come together, work together, pray together and to unite for purposes that are far greater than ourselves. We realize that the Lord moves through you to do a wonderful work through this ministry as the impossible becomes possible. We want to thank you, our friends, for allowing the Lord to work through this ministry in amazing ways.

Just a few months ago, we had our 5th Annual One Day Women’s Event. We are still receiving notes, cards, letters and emails of thanks from women as they share with us the amazing changes God has done in their lives as a result of attending the event .

Because we advertised the “Love is the Answer Conference” on secular stations in San Diego as well as on our local Christian radio station (KPRZ 1210AM), we knew that women from all different backgrounds would be attending. One woman called in for a ticket and said, “Well, I have tried every other kind of love, I guess it ’s time to give God’s love a chance.” And that seemed to be the theme of the room as the Holy Spirit moved along the seats at Point Loma Nazarene University. We found the Spirit of God touching the lives of the women who came, moving them to make a public confession of coming to know Christ. One of the evaluation cards said, “I got saved at 10:33 am and I even heard God speaking to me.”

It is the joy and rejoicing of our hearts to see people from all kinds of backgrounds, denominations, sizes, ages, shapes and color unite together to hear about the love of Jesus Christ. Our hearts desire is to help the hurting and to comfort the downcast to break through destructive habits and negative patterns to live in the fruit-filled treasures and joy-filled riches of the Lord. Isaiah 45:2-4 says, “ I [God] will go before you and make the cooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.” We are called to stand by the sinner as God transforms each life to become a saint and to teach that there is no other way to live abundantly without Jesus Christ. Thank you for making it possible.

When you pray for us and support the work to build the kingdom of God through this ministry, the Word is preached, lives are changed, hearts are healed, the homeless are fed and people are empowered to change. We unite together to make a difference that goes on beyond ourselves. In today’s world, people are looking for change and the time is so effective

Real Issues/Real Answers...

Despite our personal need of self preservation, Bobbye and I have tried to consistently share from a place of transparency. Our REAL ISSUES/REAL ANSWERS Series is not different in that aspect but does have a different twist. This four week series dealing with the deadly “D”s (Debt, Divorce, Death and Depression) has awakened women to face truth and get real with their every day lives. We do not hide behind Bible verses or appropriate church culture answers. The right answers remain right. We do not challenge truth, however, our desire has been to challenge, encourage and motivate women in how to live out real life when the wrong wins over the right. Here is a glimpse of session 2 on Divorce: There was a time in my life that I truly believed I was labeled and would be rejected from any church position because I

had gone through a divorce. I remember when my mother and I first attended an already existing women’s Bible study. Even though we were new to this group, my mother was recognized by some of the other ladies from a different women’s study. Almost immediately, one of the women asked my mom if she would consider being a leader in this class. As they walked together to the front of the church, I walked alone back into the car. It took everything I had to hold back from crying. You see, I was a divorced woman. Even though I was in my second marriage and now pregnant with my first child, I fully believed that I could never be considered as a leader in any church. I remember crying out to the Lord in the car that day to allow me to help women who felt the same way: ashamed, embarrassed, labeled and rejected. If the church people rejected me and they represent the Lord, then I assumed that God rejected me too. I knew that the presence of the Lord was very evident throughout my marriage and even the divorce but I also felt that His ability to bless me was limited because of my divorce.

That was a lie from the pit of hell! These thoughts came back to mind as I was reading a commentary late last night that twisted the divorce passages in which Jesus and Paul explained them. Many of the words, sermons and conversations today sound just like this article, “Just keep trying, just keep dying to yourself, just pray harder, just submit more, just be quiet and God will answer your prayers, bless your attitude and save your marriage.” But there are no pat answers when there are two personalities with two different perspectives and two different wills involved. There is no magic formula or anointed words to have your prayers answered. So what do you do when the prayers are not answered and you are left alone or you choose to live alone because enough is enough? Does God reject you because you didn’t fill in the appropriate multiple choice circle with the number 2 pencil? Is that the underlying personality of the God we worship? Is this the ways of the God who willingly gave Himself while we were still sinners?

God does not and has not rejected you regardless of the wrongs you have done or the sins you have committed. You are not labeled with words that crush your spirit and destroy your dreams. He uplifts, redeems, restores and sets the captives free. Until the day you die and the last sin you commit, God will continue to look for any lost, hurting and confused lamb. Why? Because He loves you. We have loved doing this series because all types, ages and backgrounds have come to listen. It is time to retrain our minds to live in the freedom and hope that is ours.

Over the past several years, we at Daily Disciples have learned a great deal about media services. Our learning curve has involved excessive expenditures on our part, which in turn, has led us to some new opportunities to help others. Let’s identify the needs and opportunities:

Your website must be a tool with a strategic plan behind it, if you want it to be effectively used in your marketing efforts. Are you writing a book? You need a marketing plan that encompasses how you intend to promote, advertise and sell your book. Are you using online videos? Are you utilizing appropriate social networks? How are you growing your database?
