The New Beginnings Net- work Event was a one-day event, which took place on 17 th October 2007 at The City of Manchester Sta- dium. The main presenter for the event was Profes- sor Bob Garvey who was awarded a Chair in Mentor- ing and Coaching at Shef- field Hallam University (SHU) for an outstanding national and international contribution to the further- ance of knowledge in the field. The day consisted of a mentoring master class, which gave delegates an excellent opportunity to feedback on future men- toring developments and network with other men- tors and mentees. Profes- sor Garvey’s mentoring master class received fantastic feedback from everyone who attended and the day was a huge success and enjoyed by all. The next learning event will be taking place on Wednesday 23 rd January 2008 at the Red Rose Hub Conference Centre in Preston and the theme of the day will be Devel- opments in Mentoring. To register for this event please e-mail [email protected] October 2007 Network Learning Event Review Group The mentoring team would like to thank the three members of the mentoring scheme who have volunteered to become part of the re- view group. We would like one more member preferably a mentee who can commit to a number of meetings in 2008.
