Regional Cross Country
On Monday 4 July three of our students Shanika, Ruby and Sarah ran in the Regional Cross Country at Saxton Field. The girls all ran very well against some tough competition. Great effort girls.
FractionsFractions can be hard. We talk about fractions as being “part of a whole or set”. Students start with half ½, quarters ¼ (also called fourths) and thirds ⅓ before moving on to fifths ⅕, sixths ⅙, eighths ⅛.
This cake has been cut into six pieces so each
piece is one sixth ⅙.
If you eat 1 piece out of the 6 pieces you eat ⅙ of the cake and that means there is ⅚ of the cake left.
You can help at home by talking about the fractions you are using.
Newsletter Challenge # 1 The answer is
