at the end of the month.
Ahead of the 11th edition of the biannual event, major exhibitors have
announced new product launches that are expected to gain significant
interest during the three-day event. The high caliber expected across
the show floor of Milipol Qatar 2016 represents all sectors of Home-
land Security, from explosive detection and forensics to analysis soft-
ware and surveillance equipment.
“Attracting thousands of industry experts and key figures in the world
of Homeland Security, Milipol Qatar has become a must attend event
in the calendar. During its 20 year-history, the exhibition has cele-
brated numerous product launches, and it is an honor this year to see

standalone multi-gas area monitor designed for all-weather purposes
that can be used in industrial workplaces and hazardous applications.
Experts in security solutions and crisis management, IREMOS, will be
launching two products this October. The first from the French com-
pany IREMOS Communication, a collaborative platform allowing crisis
response teams to access a common logbook, situation reports, as well
as all crisis documents and procedures, in real time, regardless of their
location on any device. Its second launch is IREMOS Solution, designed
to improve the preparation, management and coordination of differ-
ent services and actors, internal and external, involved in the event of
a terrorist attack.
Leader Healthcare will be unveiling its next generation integrated
portable intensive care unit (ICU). Moves SLC combines an 02 concen-
trator, a unique O2 saving ventilator, a suction system, and a complete
vital signs monitoring module into a single, compact, portable system.
In the field of Health and Safety, South Korean-OTOS is to launch a
new style of safety glasses, that it claims will protect eyes from flying
objects in addition to hazardous ultra violet rays. The sports-style
protective glasses provide shaded lenses for sun glare, a forehead
cushion to increase anti-fog performance, as well as a side-arm inclina-
tion.
Distributor Qatar Development and Trading Co. (QDT) will be promot-
ing two new target products, dated for a November launch, during the
exhibition. The first being a portable targeting system that can be used
for indoor and outdoor shooting trainings. The Fulcrum Target System
(FTS), which was developed by an ex-military personnel in 2007, can be
programmed and triggered by multiple devices allowing target move-
ments in different directions. The second product being showcased will
be the TARGABOT Target System that can be programmed by com-
puter and move up & down, 180° rotational or a combination of both
functions, with built-in sequence patterns.
French-based Cegelec Défense will be reveling during the Milipol Qatar
2016 the design of its Mobile Surgical Hospital (MSH) ahead of its

Morpho Video Investigator (MVI) is the software developed to address
the need in law enforcement and intelligence communities to quickly
assess vast amounts of video for investigative purposes. While images
and information of significant forensic value can be found in videos,
the sheer volume of data renders extraction of this information time-
consuming and labor intensive.
Today, analysts and investigators face a daunting workload that has
outpaced investigative resources. To create MVI, Safran paired its
industry leading and top ranked facial recognition software with the
power of video analytics for motion, person, and license plate recogni-
tion. The embedded algorithms process 50 hours of video data in an
hour and automatically detect, search and report the depicted ele-
ments of interest. The video analyst can thus concentrate on the most
relevant data to find clues faster, and exploit them more quickly.

NEWSLETTER 10/16
In the Middle East, as populations and infrastructure grow, public
and private stakeholders are looking for new ways to protect people
and property. With solutions ranging from large-scale homeland
security strategies to risk-specific equipment, products and services,
leading suppliers from the United States and Canada will compete for
defense and security business at Milipol Qatar.
The centerpiece of the effort will be the North American Pavilion,
organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the show’s official representa-
tive to the continent, in coordination with numerous government
agencies, including the U.S. departments of Commerce, Defense and
State and their Canadian counterparts. The Pavilion will be a primary
destination for buyers looking to meet industry leaders, an on-site
business hub for North American exhibitors looking to maximize their
exposure and impact at the event, and a forum for all to share industry
information and insights.
Ranging from publicly-traded stalwarts such as General Dynamics
(NYSE: GD) Land Systems Canada and Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) to pri-
vately held small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fewer
than 250 employees, Pavilion exhibitors are looking to initiate or
strengthen international partnerships that will generate new business
and create more jobs back home. “When North American companies
commit to exhibit at Milipol Qatar, we’re saying we believe in the
power of this event to attract real business prospects and customers,”
said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO, Tom Kallman. “As the
dynamics of life in the Middle East inspire new strategies for defense
and security, we’re proud to work with the Milipol organizers to help
our exhibitors succeed in Qatar, whether as prime contractors or sub-
contractors in support of regional manu-
facturers, service partners and their end-
user customers.”
Kallman pointed to two companies that
exemplify the wide range of solutions
presented at the Pavilion:
Passport Systems (Booth K-030)
develops advanced active and pas-
sive solutions to rapidly and auto-
matically detect, localize and iden-
tify concealed threats and contra-
band for a broad range of applications,
including pedestrian-, vehicle-, and
fixed-facility-based approaches. The
company was recently presented with
the Massachusetts Port Authority
(Massport) Security Innovation Award
from U.S. Senator Edward Markey, who thanked company CEO,
Dr. Robert Ledoux and his team for creating, “a truly remarkable
cargo inspection system capable of detecting potentially danger-
ous material and other contraband.”
Canadian manufacturer Newcon Optik (Booth L-029) has its
sights set on new business — literally — with a number of inno-
vative gunsights and accessories including:
The SEEKER Series of mountable laser rangefinders are
versatile, lightweight and MIL-SPEC modules capable of
being boresighted to practically any optical system, includ-
ing spotting scopes, binoculars, and thermal imagers, as
well as mounted onto rifles and integrated into complex fire
control systems.
NVS 27M is an exceptionally lightweight and versatile Gen 3
night vision clip-on is rugged, compact and durable.
LRM 3500M, a MIL-SPEC, pocket-sized laser rangefinder
monocular that’s designed to outperform other devices of
its class.
“In an increasingly dangerous world, security is a growth market, and
competition lurks around every corner,” said Kallman. “From surveil-
lance and weapons to equipment and training, our North American
exhibitors are bringing exceptional innovation, ideas and experience to
Milipol Qatar.”

ONLY Junctional Tourniquet hemorrhage device is FDA cleared to stabi-
lize pelvic fractures. SAM® Medical Products occludes the femoral
artery in the inguinal area at the junction of the torso and legs which is
a thing no other tourniquet but the SAM Junctional Tourniquet does.
When blast injuries take off legs like in combat zones, it can easily be
fatal and it frequently becomes difficult if not impossible to stop the
bleeding in time.
The SAM® Junctional Tourniquet offers a simple design that is com-
pact, easy to use, and quick to apply (typically under 25 seconds). The
Target Compression Device (TCD) is placed at or near the injury site
and pumped up until the bleeding stops. Two TCDs can be used to
occlude blood flow bilaterally if needed.
The rugged design ensures that the device stays firmly attached to the
patient during transport. It is well designed and terribly clever. The
instrument is now available at Leader Healthcare.

RED Technologies, a leading innovator in dynamic
spectrum management will showcase T-REM, its
new solution for efficient deployment of tactical
private mobile radio for military and public safety
at the 11th Milipol homeland security conference
starting on 31st October 2016 in Doha, Qatar. T-
REM ensures PMRs provide real-time coverage,
supervise user connectivity and manage radio
interferences during crisis situations by leveraging
RED Technologies’ award-winning innovations in
real-time radio environment mapping, dynamic
spectrum management and self-organizing net-
works.
The crucial importance of real-time radio systems
deployment in crisis situations
During crisis situations, and in particular, when the
security and protection of people is threatened,
such as by a natural disaster or an act of terrorism,
deploying a nomadic critical communications net-
work i.e. tactical-PMR networks may be the only
way to (re)establish secure communications.
It is therefore crucial that these networks operate flawlessly to
manage and accompany crisis situations without unexpected
events.
It is also critical that the systems are immediately deployable and
that the change from a normal situation to a crisis situation is
handled extremely quickly, with no fault. Reliable tools and pro-
cedures must be immediately operational to meet the require-
ments of mission critical communications.
The publicized failure of critical communication networks during the
terrorist attacks at Brussels airport and metro station earlier this year
have shown a spotlight on the need for innovation in the area of public
safety networks.
“LTE and new spectrum are both available for public safety use. RED
Technologies has applied its unique expertise in innovative spectrum
management systems to design a powerful solution that meets a cru-
cial safety need,” said Michael Abitbol, Managing Director of RED Tech-
nologies.
Visitors to the RED Technologies’ stand D034 will see a demonstration
of T-REM, including tactical PMR coverage maps and user equipments
monitoring.
About RED Technologies
RED Technologies is a leading developer of innovative new spectrum management and advanced self-organizing network solutions needed for the imple-
mentation of the Licensed Shared Access (LSA) approach to spectrum sharing in Europe, the Spectrum Access System (SAS) in the United States and zero
touch Radio Access Network (RAN) installations.
RED Technologies’ solutions assess, localize, coordinate, monitor and optimize spectrum management for telecommunications, public safety and military
sectors.
The company, supported by BPI France and Cap Décisif Management, was founded in 2012 in synergy with the development of LSA. French Minister for
Digital, Axelle Lemaire, presented RED Technologies with the prestigious La French Tech, Best Telecom Innovation Award 2015 at Mobile World Con-
gress. The minister also inaugurated the world’s first LSA with carrier aggregation pilot developed by RED Technologies in partnership with Ericsson and
