DON’T FORGET!

A message from David, your 2016-2017 Indiana South District Governor

It’s Time 2 Imagine, It’s time 2 Dream, It’s Time 2 Believe and It’s Time to Succeed for our kids. Together We Can!One definition of BELIEVE is to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so: Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully. We began our journey together on October 1 by beginning to IMAGINE. We then began to DREAM. Now I am asking you TO BELIEVE. If we all believe in something, we can act purposefully. How do we do that. We recruit new members to our clubs. By getting new members, we strengthen our club, bring new ideas, bring in new energy and most importantly, serve more KIDS.We are half way through this Optimist year. This is the year of the Honor Club. Each club should be striving to reach this very important goal. Not just for the honor but more importantly to use it to market your Club. It is much easier to get someone to join your club if they see the Club as being a Club that is vibrant, growing, and active.I ask you to look all around you and look at the people. Are they a member of your Club? If not, ask them! Do not think about whether they would make a good member. If you do, you may miss someone who could be the 2nd best member of your Club; with you being the 1st. The youth of THE Indiana South District deserve, need, and want to be served by Optimist. It is our job to make that happen!

I BELIEVE, DO YOU?Governor Dave

Indiana South District Optimist International2016-17 Third Quarter District Conference

The Southern Exposure 2

Conference Highlights This year, we will visit the Brown County Inn in Nashville for our Third Quarter Conference, which will feature the Oratorical Contest District Finals and Essay Contest winners. We will also conduct Lt. Governor elections. What a great opportunity to bring the whole family for a weekend getaway. Be “Optimistic” that Mother Nature will provide beautiful spring weather to explore the shops and attractions in Nashville and the Brown County State Park.

The Executive Committee Meeting on Friday evening, the Conference general sessions, and the District Oratorical Finals will be held in the Town Hall East Meeting Room.

The “Harvest Buffet” Luncheon will feature your entree choice (fried chicken or baked cod) with tossed salad, fried biscuits with apple butter, baked potatoes, country style green beans, water, iced tea and lemonade. Yum!

The Past Governor’s Breakfast on Saturday morning, will be held in the Harvest North Room. All our meeting rooms are on the main floor north of the Harvest Dining Room.

From the Governor…….

At this conference, we will be blessed with our Oratorical and Essay kids. We will award 3 talented students with scholarship money. We will also have our Parade of Veterans to honor all who have served and defended our freedoms. We will have 2 trainings, one on Leadership Style and the other on Fundraising. We will be in beautiful Nashville, Indiana. I hope to see you there!
