prOJECT LInuSThe Hope Haven group meets each Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church. They are certainly a blast! They were making knot blankets for Lutheran Missions, but decided to begin making blankets for project Linus – named after the little boy in peanuts who goes around sucking his thumb and holding a blanket. project Linus is a non-profit organization that is nationwide. The mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need of a new, handmade blanket/afghan. It is also a fun and rewarding opportunity to the group knowing that it will benefit children living in Des Moines County. The blankets are distributed at the hospital, women’s shelter, and homeless shelter. Our sincere thank you to Al Fabel who has taught the class for many years.
