OKTOBERFEST PROVIDES SAFE ENTERTAINMENT FOR ALL AGES
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 5, 2015 – The Jacksonville Art Walk will return on Wednesday,
Oct. 7 from 5 to 10 p.m. for the third annual Oktoberfest.
The Jacksonville Art Walk is an event downtown that is held the first Wednesday of
every month and spans more than 15 blocks consisting of over 40 museums, restaurants,
galleries, artists and performances.
On Wednesday, Art Walk and Oktoberfest will combine to provide family-friendly fun
for all ages. “Oktoberfest showcases the artistry of cooks, musicians and other artists in way that
people just don’t expect,” said Lenny Curry, Mayor of Jacksonville.
The event will provide families with live music, hay-rolling, pumpkin painting and a
kinderfest zone on Laura Street.
Beer, food, music and artists will ensure entertainment for parents. Dan Wituki and Mein
Heimatland Musikanten Band will be the featured band and Hoptinger’s Bier & Sausage House
will be open until 2 a.m. for late night amusement. Hoptinger’s will also host a sausage-eating
contest for those who are ready for a challenge.
“We couldn’t have timed this event better if we tried,” Hana Ashchi, the event’s
marketing director said. “When Art Walk celebrates the artistry of painters, poets and craftsmen,
visitors will get to sample the talents of skilled cooks and brewers, too. What better combination
than good food, good art and good drink?”
