BVIMR GEMS ON DD NEWS CHANNEL
The students of BVIMR participated in a talk show on the topic “Nurse's trouble and their relationship with the patients” on 14th Sep'2011, which was telecasted on DD (Door Darshan) News Channel. The show had two senior nurses as guests for the show, one from AIIMS (All India institute of Management and science) and the other from the Heart Institute, New Delhi.

hospitals in an extremely precarious condition and nurses take care of them as professionals not allowing their personal life to interfere while dealing. They prove to be a great source of hope to the family members of the patient, and painstakingly work with patience, love and dedication.
The students' whole heartedly took part in the interaction with the guests and learnt the virtues of patience, sympathy and morality.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. - Buddha
FACULTY ACADEMIC BODY (FAB) MEETING
THE MANAGER WHO KNOWS HIS JOB TOO WELL IS NOT FIT FOR THE JOB
A manager, who knows his job too well, has been probably concentrating on his job only and does not react to the changes in
the surrounding environment. Today's business environment, does not call only for skill related to one's job, but skills that
are related to the changes in the business environment. A manager, who specializes in marketing his products, may know his
job too well. But a change in the rules and regulations of a country, the political environment and other changes, may make
his product totally not acceptable to the customers.
Let us not forget about the amount of customer interest created when pagers came to the market in India. To carry a pager
was considered a status symbol. There has been an article published in the newspapers that the doctors in Ganga Ram
hospital now carry pagers and the same were reviewed both in the positive and negative spirit. The same doctors today carry
mobiles and no one talks about. The times change: now you can imagine the plight of a manager selling pagers at that time.
He would have been very good at his work, but the tsunami of mobile phones, drowned him before he can even wink.
The technology of computer have changed so much in two decades, from main frames, to personal computers ( desk tops) ,
then laptops, then tablets, then palm tops and now reached situation where your mobile can do almost all that a computer
can do. Do you think that a manger who does too well in main frames can now market mobile phones? It is adaptability to the
business environment that matter and not your expertise in doing your current job.
As students, you need to keep yourselves updated on the economic, political, legal, and cultural changes, and not necessarily
become experts in the position that you are going to occupy after your graduation. To keep yourself updated, you need to
read business newspapers, business magazines, as they reflect the current management problems and you can think of the
likely solutions. Who knows: the same company you are now reading about in the magazine may come for a campus
interview and you certainly have an edge over others in getting that job.
