Here's How Milford BankIs Helping To 'Green' TheCityThe Planning and Zoning Boardapproved the unique project fordowntown Milford.

Raymond Paier, PE, Westcott and Mapesaddressed the planning and zoning board abouta proposed carport would provide shelter forbank employees' vehicles, but that the main pointof the project was to provide power without theuse of fossil fuels.

He said no parking spaces or green areas wouldbe disturbed, but that a canopy would support thesolar array. He described interactions withvarious City departments.

He described aspects of how the solar panelswould work. He noted that clearances for tallvehicles were incorporated. He described thelocation of columns such that parking trafficpatterns would not be impacted. He said thecolumns would be aesthetically consistent withthe nearby bank and ATM structure.

The city's Planning and Zoning Board approvedMilford Bank's request to construct a solar carportat 119 High Street.

Bridgeport HospitalAuxiliary Milford campusplans fall fashion showA girls night out and fashion show, presented bythe Milford Campus of Bridgeport HospitalAuxiliary, will take place Thursday, Oct. 24, at 6p.m., at Costa Azzurra Restaurant, 72 Broadway,Milford.Tickets are $35 each or $300 for a table of10 and includes, hors d’oeuvres and dessertstations and coffee. A cash bar also is available.Proceeds will benefit the Milford CampusBridgeport Hospital.

The annual Walter Camp Day at the Yale Bowl was held on Saturday, September21, when the Yale University Bulldogs hosted the Holy Cross Crusaders. BerchemMoses PC sponsored the pre-game event for the eleventh consecutive year tosupport the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF). This year, the eventbenefitted the Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center Homeless Program (CSHHC) andthe South Norwalk Secret Santa program. Fans, friends and firm clients wereasked to bring a gently used coat or a new toy to support these very worthwhilecauses, and in return, received a free general admission ticket to thegame. Attorneys and clients of the law firm donated hundreds of warm garments,toys and games.
