Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We hope you and your family are safe and healthy during this very challenging time for our nation. Please know that the Park Shore Association is doing everything possible to keep our neighborhood protected.

Last month, the City of Naples closed all city parks and public beaches in an effort to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and in alignment with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Governor DeSantis’s Executive Order 20-68. This action included all public beach accesses, restroom facilities, parking areas and walkways as well as Lowdermilk Park and the Naples Pier. The order has been extended until April 30th and could be further extended, if necessary.

The Park Shore Association agreed to follow this guidance and immediately closed the Raymond Lutgert Park at Park Shore until further notice. This was an extremely difficult decision to make, and not one that was made lightly. But given the circumstances and the continued guidance provided by the CDC and Florida Department of Health (FDOH), there never was any question that we made the right decision.

Since the beach park remains closed, the traditional Easter Egg Hunt originally scheduled for this weekend has been cancelled. There are plans to reopen the park as soon as we are told it is safe. Until then, our beautiful park grounds and restroom building will continue to be kept clean and maintained.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we get through this difficult period.

On Saturday, February 29th, the Park Shore Association hosted its annual Spring Fling.

The sun was shining and there was a light breeze coming off the Gulf of Mexico as nearly 400 Park Shore Association members and their guests turned out for an afternoon of food, fun, music and socialization.

It was a relaxing afternoon as our friends at Artichoke & Co. distributed

catered appetizers to members conversing on park benches and in their lawn chairs. Live entertainment also was once again provided by the three-member Island Breeze Band, while volunteers served up ice cold beer, wine and soft drinks.

A lot of planning and work goes into the Spring Fling event, which is highly anticipated each year by members. We want to thank our friendly volunteers for their assistance during and after the event.

Safeguard Your Vehicles at Home

The City of Naples Police Department reports that there has been a significant number of vehicles being stolen throughout the City in the last few weeks (especially overnight).

To help ensure that this does not happen to you or a family member, please try the following:

• Lock your car doors if parked outside, especially overnight.• TAKE YOUR FOB WITH YOU...DO NOT LEAVE IT IN THE VEHICLE...DAY OR NIGHT.• Set your car alarms, if equipped.• Park your vehicle in your garage overnight, if possible. If you can only park one vehicle in the

garage, put the newest or most expensive vehicle in the garage overnight.• If you have to leave a vehicle outside, place it in a well-lit area, preferably under a camera.• If you have a device that goes over your steering wheel, such as The Club etc., please use it...

especially overnight.• If you see any person or vehicle that appears to be suspicious, please call the Naples Police

Department at 213-3000 non-emergency.

Going Away This Summer?

You can download a Notification of Vacant Property, which lets the Naples Police Department know when your home will be vacant and provides the authorities with emergency contact information, if needed.

While you are gone, a member of the Naples Police Department will make periodic checks onyour residence as well. City of Naples property owners may use this form to advise the authorities when their properties will be vacant for any length of time. Forms may currently be submitted by mail or fax.

For additional information, go to www.naplesgov.com and click on “Police Department.”

Important Membership Renewal Information

As many of you and your neighbors anticipate heading north for the summer, we want to remind you of some few very important items as they relate to the annual membership renewal process.

Each year, the Park Shore Association conducts membership renewals in the fall. This year, we estimate that the Association will be mailing out the membership renewal notices on or about October 16, 2020.

Please note that it is imperative you send your check with the detachable coupon to the address stated on the form so that your renewal can be properly processed by our bank. For this reason, we encourage you to arrange to have your mail forwarded to your seasonal address so you receive the notice on time.

In recent years, we have experienced a significant number of late payments received well after the mid-December due date (some as late as April). This has resulted in several processing errors and a delay in members being able to get their new beach passes in a timely fashion from their local block captains.

Please make sure you return your 2021 renewal payment before the stated due date to ensure that you receive your Beach Passes and Membership Directory and do not incur a potential late fee penalty.

Thank you for your support and best wishes for an enjoyable summer no matter where you travel.

Code Enforcement Information

Keeping Park Shore beautiful and pleasant for all our residents is a top priority.

If you should have a concern about vacant lots not properly maintained, noise, signs in front of homes, or boats and other restricted vehicles, the Naples Code Enforcement Department should be contacted.

Complaints are logged into the City’s system and are given a number for future reference. Please provide as much detail about the potential violation during your initial contact and the matter will get resolved.

The Code Enforcement Department is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling 239-213-5030. For after-hours service, call the City of Naples Police non-emergency line at 239-213-4844.

The Park Shore Association has recently launched a page on Facebook.

This social media tool allows us to provide accurate and immediate information to our members 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It also is a way for our members to reach out with their
