CUP Come viaggiatori si è arrivati ad apprezzare i benefici delle valigie di plastica. Sono estremamente leggeri e flessibili, ma allo stesso tempo resistenti e di bell’aspetto. Le valigie realizzate in lastre sottili di plastica termoformate hanno rivoluzio-nato un’intera specie di prodotto.Come progettista sono rimasto colpito dall’ingegnosità di questa tecnologia pensando a quanto fosse appropriato all’ap-plicazione nella produzione e funzione delle moderne scocche per sedie. Il potenziale creativo sembrava ovvio. Tuttavia, tradurlo in una formula di successo per una sedia necessitava tempo e sperimentazione. Con CUP abbiamo sviluppato un’elegante geometria per il guscio, che combina la resistenza strutturale con un alto grado di flessibilità e leggerezza. L’imbottitura interna della scocca aggiunge un’ergonomia equilibrata alla seduta che la rende una scelta perfetta per le si-tuazioni di conferenza, aree di attesa e ristoranti. La scocca di plastica nera o bianca può essere combinata con una scelta infinita di tessuti e colori a seconda che si debba fondere con l’ambiente o essere una protagonista. La collezione CUP si declina in una poltroncina, poltroncina lounge e dei tavolini impilabili.

CUPAs a traveller one has come to appreciate the benefits of plastic shell suitcases. They are extremely light and flexible, yet strong and good looking. Suitcases made of thin vacuum-formed plastic sheets have revolutionised an entire product spe-cies. As a furniture designer I was struck by the ingenuity of this technology, considering how appropriate it was to the pro-duction and performance of modern chair shells. The creative potential seemed obvious. However, translating it into a successful formula for a chair took time and learning. With CUP we have developed an elegant geometry for the shell, which combines structural strength with a high degree of flexibility and lightness. The upholstered inside of the shell adds a well-balanced ergonomic quality to the chair, making it a perfect choice for conference situations, waiting and dining areas. The shell in black or white plastic can be combined with an infinite range of fabrics and colours, depending on whether it has to blend with the environment or to be the protagonist.The CUP collection consists of a small armchair, lounge chair and stackable tables.

CUPAls Reisender hat man die Vorteile von Kunststoffschalenkoffern schätzen gelernt. Sie sind extrem leicht und flexibel, gleichzeitig sehr resistent und sehen gut aus. Koffer aus dünnen thermogeformten Kunststofffolien haben eine ganze Produktspezies verändert. Als Möbeldesigner war ich von der Genialität dieser Technologie ergriffen und befand, daß sie sich ideal für die Produktion und Funktion moderner Sitzschalen anwenden ließe. Das kreative Potenzial schien offensichtlich, das Übersetzen in eine erfolgreiche Formel für einen Stuhl brauchte jedoch Zeit und Tests. Mit CUP haben wir eine elegante Geometrie für die Schale entwickelt, die strukturelle Festigkeit mit einem hohen Grad an Flexibilität und Leichtigkeit kombiniert. Die gepol-sterte Seite der Schale trägt zur ausgewogenen Ergonomie des Stuhls bei und ist somit die perfekte Wahl für Konferen-zsituationen, Wartebereiche und Restaurants. Die Schale aus schwarzem oder weißem Kunststoff kann mit einer großen Auswahl an Stoffen und Farben kombiniert werden, je nachdem, ob sie sich mit der Einrichtung verbinden oder Protago-nist sein soll. Die Cup-Kollektion besteht aus einem Lounge Sessel, einem Sessel und Beistelltischen.

Lounge Sessel. Sitzschale aus Kunststoff in den Farben Schwarz und Weiß. Polsterung in verschiedenen Stoffen und Farben in Kombination zur Sitzschale. Metallgestell verchromt oder schwarz pulverbeschichtet.

FILA Immagina un tavolo, il più semplice dei tavoli: un piano e quattro gambe; una in ogni angolo. La sua imagine dall’estetica minimalista è realizzata con profili di alluminio uniforme, rifinito con un piano tavolo sottile e solido.Dando uno sguardo da vicino si rivela la struttura modulare del tavolo: ogni angolo ha un giunto angolare solido in alluminio che collega le traverse e le gambe estruse. Tavoli molto lunghi avrebbero due giunti supplementari aggiun-gendo una quinta e una sesta gamba. Un tavolo ancora più lungo può avere otto gambe, o dodici ... e così via. FILA è un sistema ingegnerizzato. I giunti sono fresati e non in fusione, il risultato è una precisione continua tra gli elementi. Uno smusso distinto che corre lungo il bordo esterno di ogni gamba angolare è il dettaglio distintivo di FILA e la prova della FILA è disponibile in una gamma di dimensioni standard o può essere realizzato su misura. La struttura in alluminio è anodizzata in argento, oro o nero. Il piano del tavolo in FENIX NTM® offre un materiale estremamente resistente, morbi-do al tatto e anti-impronta digitale.

FILA Imagine a table, the simplest of tables: a top and four legs; one in each corner. The minimalistic outline of this table is made of uniform aluminium profiles and finished with a thin solid core table top.Taking a closer look at the framework reveals the table’s modular construction: each corner has a solid aluminium corner joint connecting the extruded crossbars and legs. Very long tables would have two additional joints adding a fifth and six-th leg. An even longer table can have eight legs or twelve… and so on. FILA is an engineered system. The joints are milled not cast, which produces a seamless precision between the elements. A distinct chamfer running down the outside edge of each corner leg is FILA’s signature detail and proof of the special attention to workmanship and quality. FILA is produced in a range of standard sizes or can be made to measure. The aluminium framework is anodized in silver, gold or black. The table top in FENIX NTM® offers an extremely durable material, which is soft to touch and anti-finger-print.

FILA ist ein ausgedachtes System. Die Winkelverbinder werden gefräst und nicht gegossen. Das Ergebnis ist eine nahtlose Präzision zwischen den Elementen. Eine Fase die entlang der Außenkanten der Tischbeine nach unten verläuft ist FILAs unterschei-dendes Detail und Erkennungsmerkmal für die besondere Verarbeitung.Die Aluminiumstruktur ist in Silber, Gold oder Schwarz eloxiert. LANDCon la seduta LAND, disegnata da Naoto Fukasawa, Plank amplia la sua collezione lounge. Il progetto pensato sia per l’Out-door sia per Indoor si caratterizza da linee pure e cerca l’equilibrio relativo al rapporto tra forma e carattere, tra espressione e fluidità. Land è una seduta lounge realizzata con la tecnologia dello schiumato morbido per l’interno e in materiale plasti-co a stampaggio rotazionale per l’esterno. La versione Outdoor si arricchisce con un poggiapiedi / tavolino che ne aumenta la sua funzionalità.Il sedile basso e leggermente inclinato invita a una postura rilassata con gambe distese e schiena supportata, ma ricorda nello stesso momento la sensazione di essere seduti in una vettura sportiva. Ideale per lounges ed aree d’attesa.

LANDWith its LAND chair, designed by Naoto Fukasawa, Plank has widened its Lounge collection. A design distinctive for its pure lines, it seeks to balance the relation between form and character, expression and fluidity. LAND is a lounge chair made in soft polyurethane moulding for indoor and rotational plastic mould technology for outdoor. The Outdoor version is enriched with an ottoman that increases its functionality.The low, slightly inclined seat of the LAND lounge chairs promotes a relaxed posture with outstretched legs and supported back. At the same time, it provides the feeling of sitting in a sports car. Ideal for lounges and waiting areas.

LANDMit LAND von Naoto Fukasawa erweitert Plank seine Outdoor-Kollektion. Ein Projekt, das sich durch eine reduzierte Li-nienführung auszeichnet und das Gleichgewicht in Relation zu Form und Ausdruck sucht. LAND wird aus einem Weich-schaumformteil für den Innenbereich und im Rotations-Kunststoffverfahren für den Außenbereich hergestellt. Die Outdoor Version wird durch den LAND Ottoman erweitert und erhöht damit die Funktionalität und Einsetzbarkeit. Die niedere, leicht nach hinten abfallende Sitzfläche begünstigt eine entspannte Haltung mit ausgestreckten Beinen und abgestütztem Rücken, erinnert aber gleichzeitig an das bodennahe Sitzgefühl eines Sportwagens. Ideal für Lounges und Wartebereiche.

Konstantin Grcic (*1965) si diploma come falegname al Parnham College in Inghilterra e studia design pres-so il Royal College of Arts, Londra. Dalla fondazione del suo studio “Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design” nel 1991 a Monaco, progetta mobili, prodotti e lampade per alcune delle più importanti aziende. Molti dei suoi prodotti hanno ricevuto premi di design internazionali (p.e. Compasso D’Oro 2001) e fanno parte di collezioni permanenti dei più importanti musei (p.e. MoMA/New York, Centre Georges Pompidou/Paris).Recentemente Konstantin Grcic a curato mostre significative come „Design Real“ per “Serpentine Gallery, Londra (2009), „Comfort“ per St. Etienne Design Biennale (2010) e „Black2“ per l’Istituto Svizzero a Roma(2010). Mostre personali del suo lavoro sono state tenute nei seguenti musei: Boijmans van Beuningen Museum (Rotterdam, 2006), Haus der Kunst (München, 2006), The Art Institute of Chicago (2009). Plank is a company with a history stretching back to 1953. With his designs devoted to simplicity and sublime beauty, Fukasawa has designed for a wide range of leading brands worldwide in Italy, Germany, America, Switzerland, Spain, China, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, France, Portugal, Sweden and Finland, as well as consulting and working with Japanese major corporations. His designs span a wide variety of fields, from precision electronic equipment to furniture and interior settings. He has received numerous national and international design awards. His wall-mounted CD player for MUJI, humidifier for ±0 and the mobile phones INFOBAR and neon for au/KDDI are all part of New York’s Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) permanent collection. In 2007, he was accorded the title of Honorable Royal Designer for Industry (Royal Society of Arts), UK. MUJI’s wall-mounted CD player is also part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s permanent collection, while his HIROSHIMA armchair for MARUNI is part of Designmusuem Dan-mark’s permanent collection.Fukasawa is one of the directors of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT. He also sits on the design advisory board of MUJI, and is the art director of MARUNI. In 2017, he became a member of the judging committee for the LOEWE Craft Prize. He is a professor in the Integrated Design department at Tama Art University. In 2006, he estab-lished “Super Normal” with Jasper Morrison. He has been acted as the 5th curator of The Japan Folk Crafts Museum since 2012.Fukasawa has co-authored “The Outline – The Unseen Outline of Things” (Hachette Fujingaho) with pho-tographer Tamotsu Fujii and released NAOTO FUKASAWA (Phaidon Press). In Spring 2018, He released his Second book with Phaidon press, Naoto Fukasawa Embodiment.
