THE MYSTICAL REMINDER
-Anushree Das, Vice-President Literary Commiee
As the year's cycle goes around, we come back again and again to this day. There is certain crispness in the air and freshness in Nature. Change is
the law of nature. But just being a passive observer of change won't help; we have to be acve learners in order to progress. Hence, our wise thancestors welcomed “Rituraj Vasant” by observing Saraswa Puja on Vasant Panchmi. This year it fell on 10 February, Sunday.
Vasant Panchmi is celebrated all over the Indian subconnent with great joy and rejoice. Saraswa Puja is observed on this day. People, with
great excitement, dress up in yellow- the Colour of Vasant. The children are given yellow kerchieves by the elders. With this very thought,
I seled down reflecng on the significance of the day. You may or may not agree with my conclusions and that's perfectly fine. Here I present to
you some of my findings.th th thWhy Vasant Panchmi? I mean why the 5 day and not the 6 or the 14 . Well, I think it is probably so, as the Universe was said to be made of the
Panch Tatwa, the five elements. And now that the Vishwa Prapanch, whatever we see outside us, is up for a beer brighter change; this day is a
reminder for us to take control of the Inner World. The wellbeing, cleanliness, wholeness and happiness of one's Inner World is one's own
responsibility. One has to replace the dark corners of the Inner world with the bright Vasan yellow. Those of us who love watching the night sky, know that Shukla Paksh's Panchmi's moon has a perfect boat shape. The ocean might be calm or rough. The Prapanch, the world outside, may be pleasant or tough, but the boat, the mind is always headed towards its desnaon. Hence, we have to make our boats strong and sturdy and navigate the waters with full responsibility. Here, I conclude by repeang my findings in points:
1) Change is the law of nature. This day is our reminder to be acve learners instead of being passive observers of change.
2) Don't just wear yellow, embody yellow. Don't just worship Saraswa- don't just worship knowledge; embody Saraswa- embody
knowledge.
3) My happiness is my responsibility and I will take care of that.
4) We have to build strong; sturdy and focused minds; take control; steer through the ups and downs; and achieve our goals gracefully.
