NEW FOUNDRY GENERATION FORUM Code of Ethics Purpose The purpose of this forum is to create a platform for young foundry leaders to engage on challenges facing the industry. The intent of this initiative is to equip and empower the younger leaders within foundries, working their way up, to play a stronger role in the on-‐going efforts to revitalise the foundry industry. Objectives To present a series of courses, technology demonstrations and presentations of the latest equipment on the market in collaboration with key partners. Understanding
• New Foundry Generation Forum members are young foundry leaders willing and able to attend courses, technology demonstrations, presentations and networking events presented by the National Foundry Technology Network
• New Foundry Generation Forum members must be willing to give up part of their personal time to the benefit of their own personal development
• New Foundry Generation Forum members have been invited by the NFTN and/or been nominated by key decision-‐makers in the foundry industry to become members of this forum, based on the following selection criteria
Selection criteria
• Young leaders with a relevant engineering degree or diploma / OR • In exceptional cases where foundry decision-‐makers have identified an outstanding
individual that does not meet the minimum criteria • A candidate should already be employed in a management position or have the potential
to move into a management position soon • Candidates should be between 25 – 45 years • Be keen and hungry to find answers and innovative ways to solve age-‐old problems in the
industry • Candidates will have to commit to at least a year’s participation with the written consent
of their superiors • Candidates must be willing and committed to sign the Code of Conduct/Ethics

Member ethics • Commitment must be shown by the members to attend workshops/events (and where
required on Saturdays if so required) • Commitment must be shown by the member towards his/her current employer for
nominating and trusting the candidate to become part of this forum • Members must embrace all coaches and or mentors irrespective of their
coaching/teaching methodology • Members must maintain high standards of competence and exercise care in determining
how to use the knowledge gained during forum interactions • Members must develop and enhance their level of competence by participating in at least
three of the four training and continuing opportunities as part of the professional development of this forum
• Members will not be allowed to use this forum to seek alternative employment while participating in any of the forum’s initiatives
Breaches of the Code
• If members have concerns and or questions, the appropriate channel to seek clarity would be to direct any such correspondence to the NFTN Project Leader. Failure to adhere to this would result in immediate dismissal from the forum.
• Where foundry members and or the manager of the member believes that the member has acted in an unethical manner, they should raise the matter with the NFTN Project Leader to seek a resolution.
• In the event that a complaint is raised against a member, the member should be willing to participate in resolving the issue. Failure to do this would result in immediate dismissal from the forum.
