The following deliverables were met during both stages of the Concept Development and Testing of the Prototype DDT Filter:• Lowered Trans-Membrane Pressure (TMP) because the TMP acts as the driving force for a membrane filter process with 58 % per SWRO-train system or 78% for low pressure RO-elements; • Improvement on membrane operational performance in the following areas; • The Biofouling conditioning of RO-elements to be lowered, using an aeration process with the DDT-Filter technology; • An 80% reduction in rejection rates and flux rates per RO-element, using DDT-Filter membrane technology; • Operates on fluctuating energy supply without fouling of the RO-Membranes, which ma-kes it more suitable to use with renewable energy resources, thereby lowering OPEX;

With the above deliverables achieved, there will be a subsequent increase in the profit margins achieved by Water Service Providers. This provides potentially lucrative inves-tment opportunities, as the OPEX is halved over 25 years through the lowered energy consumption; saving billions of US$ (based on current industry statistics).
