To express her great appreciation, Kohn will rename the Agate Theater the ‘Eminem Auditorium.’ “I am confident that the Detroit Center for Performing Arts will produce the next generation of Hollywood stars,” Kohn said. “This is a privilege that will draw attention to the students and their abilities, providing them with a real shot at fame.” Kohn explained her plan is to expand the theater, increasing seating from 670 to 1,750 seats and adding studios. According to Kohn, the expansion will cost $3.5 million. The newandimproved Eminem Auditorium will allow for more elaborate performances, and provide a professional environment for students to reach their potential, Kohn said. “I feel honored to be a part of something in my hometown that will help young aspiring artists achieve their dreams and experience the same opportunities as I have,” Eminem said.
