TRANSCRIPT
As the Catholic Foundation celebrates its 20th year, our amazing journey can be summed up in just four words:
Thanks be to God! We give thanks that Bishop Emeritus Arthur N. Tafoya was inspired to create the Catholic Foundation, we give thanks for
the hard work and leadership of all our former executive directors, employees and members of the Board of Directors, and we
give thanks for our faithful donors whose generosity has helped the Catholic Foundation distribute nearly Two Million Dollars
in grant awards. By the grace of God, the efforts of so many have truly helped make the Catholic Foundation a
leading voice for Catholic philanthropy throughout the Diocese of Pueblo.
The Catholic Foundation continues to support those who seek to strengthen and enrich their faith. This year the Catholic
Foundation was able to fund thirty requests for assistance from across the Diocese. In all, $80,000 was awarded to fund
tuition assistance for Catholic school students and a wide range of other programs and needs in the areas of faith formation and
worship. These grants will make a direct and immediate impact on parishes, missions and other Catholic organizations that will
now be able to provide:
Updated Religious Formation Materials
Audio-Visual Equipment
Altar Supplies for Mission Churches
Vacation Bible School Opportunities
Youth Conferences and Travel Assistance
Newman Club Support for High Schools
Adult Faith Formation
Parish Retreats
“ True virtue has no limits, but goes on and on, and especially holy charity, which is the virtue of virtues…” St. Francis de Sales
2015 also marks the beginning of another exciting chapter in our story. The Catholic Foundation is pleased to announce that
it has received a generous bequest from the late Msgr. Howard Delaney (1911-2014). These funds will be used exclusively to
support humanitarian purposes. This enduring gift will allow the Catholic Foundation to help those most in need— the margin-
alized and impoverished— for years to come. By his life of faith, service and love for the people of God, Msgr. Delaney has
created a lasting legacy of Catholic stewardship which serves as an inspiration for all.
On behalf of Bishop Stephen J. Berg and the Board of Directors, thank you for your support of the Catholic Foundation. We
look forward to your continued support and all of God’s blessings in the years ahead.
