Maintenance of l1'Iembership records (2,000 plus). 4. Provide services to Council Committees. 5. Other miscellaneous services required by the Institute. Kirk- patrick, Manilldra Milling Corporation, Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Second Vice President: Jack R. Blakney, Ogilvie Mills Ltd., Montreal, Canada. An international supermarket featur- ing 2,500 new products from around the world was one of the major attrac- tions in Toronto at the World New Products Conference in October. It was one of the largest exhibitions of new supermarket world products ever assembled and featured products from West Germany, France, Britain, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil and other countries. One thousand of the 75,000 biggest successes and failures in new products in North America over the past 15 years was also on display. Speakers included Dr. Henry Kissinger on geopolitical trends businessmen must face in a shrinking world, Alvin Toffler, who has deve- loped a unique analysis of the human factors which determine whether your career is poised to ride the Third Wave, and Mike Vance, ex-Dean of WaIt Dis- ney Creative College, who offered thoughts on how innovative marketers can keep emerging consumer trends in focus. Other speakers at the 2 day confer- ence included Ervin R. Shames, Presi- dent, General Foods International, New York; Thomas W. Wilson, Jr., Director, McKinsey Consulting, New York; Peter N. Larson, President of Consumer Products, Kimberly-Clark, Neenah, Wisconsin; Mona Doyle, President, The Consumer Network, Philadelphia; Michael Strauss, Executive Vice- President, Shearson-American Express, New York; Graham Denton, President, Product Initiatives, Toronto; Robert M. McMath, Chairman, Marketing Intelli- gence Service, Naples, New York. The conference was the most compre- hensive new product conference ever held and was designed to provide definitive thoughts and analysis to the needs of today's new product mar- keters. New Products Conference IWGA Update Since the International Wheat Gluten Association (IWGA) was chartered in 1979 by 11 companies that manufacture wheat gluten in Australia, Canada, and the United States, the IWGA has grown to 16 members in eight countries. Indeed, the scope of the IWGA is international.
