NEW PRINTMAKING EXHIBITION TRAVELS THROUGH TIME AT WORCESTER ART MUSEUM
(WORCESTER, Mass., June 26, 2009) — Worcester Art Museum launches the new
exhibition, Printmaking Methods: Relief on Saturday, June 27. The fifth in a series of
installations explaining the techniques of printmaking, this exhibition considers the relief
processes, including woodcut, wood engraving and linocut. Printmaking will include relief prints
from around world, dating from the 14th century to the present.
Printmaking includes color relief, wood engravings, carved wood and linoleum printing blocks
and cutting tools from Europe, Japan and America. The exhibition will be accompanied by an
illustrated, didactic pamphlet, distributed free to the public, and funded by a gift from Bernard
and Louise Palitz.
Exhibition is on view Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00pm, Saturday from
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. through October 18.
