Mobile Device Management program changesThe Borgess Mobile Device Management (MDM) Program is changing to use the national XenMobile Worx Home cli-ent to validate controls on mobile de-vices, including “bring your own devices (BYOD).” The change is to ensure Borgess safeguards sensitive information, includ-ing protected health information.

During the enrollment process, some Apple device users may see a warning about extensive privileges being requested. The XenMobile Worx Home client cannot monitor actual use of personal devices and cannot manage or change other accounts on personal devices. The XenMobile Worx Home client is only used to deliver control rules to ensure polices, including both IS-4 and BORGESS ITS Policy 1240, are fol-lowed. The XenMobile Worx Home client does not currently have the capability to behave as the device warning indicates.

Additionally, any changes to the MDM technical policies or capabilities are made only after the Ascension Information Services (AIS) National Change Control approval process. These changes are reviewed and approved by all AIS service lines. Any change outside of this process is a violation of AIS IT General Controls processes and is handled through the ap-propriate HR policies.

To enroll in the MDM Program, visit http://mdm.ascensionhealth.org. For more information, please call the AIS BYOD Help Desk at (586) 753.0000, Option 5.

Borgess-Lee offers outpatient cardiac rehab servicesResidents in the Dowagiac area no longer have to go far to receive cardiac rehabilitation services. The services are now available near the comfort of home.

The Cardiopulmonary Services department at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital now offers outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services. The services are available in the newly renovated space located on the west side of the first floor inside the hospital. The program provides significant benefits for people who have any of the following conditions:

Post-cardiac event, such as heart attack

Post-cardiac procedures, such as cardiac angioplasty or stent placement

Heart surgery (bypass and valve replacement)

 Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)

 Cardiovascular disease with stable angina

 Congestive heart failure

“Up until now, patients from this area had to go numerous miles to receive cardiac rehab,” said John Ryder, chief operating officer, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital. “We are proud to offer these services right here at Borgess-Lee, so patients can receive their care closer to home, and with the benefit of our excellent and caring physicians and staff.”

Patients receiving cardiac rehabilitation participate in exercise sessions that involve continuous heart monitoring and close observation by specially qualified cardiac rehabilitation associ-ates. Exercise programs typically include exercise on recumbent bikes, walking on treadmills and resistance training, and are tailored to meet the needs of individual patients. The programs begin with a patient orientation that includes a thorough evalua-tion, review of medical history, and identification of any special conditions or needs.

For information on the new outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services, contact Kim Griffin, supervisor, cardiopulmonary services, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, at (269) 783.3034.
