Principal activities to fight ASF in Sardinia
The initiatives in line with the Eradication Plan 2020 focus on preventingnew outbreaks in domestic pigs, the control of the disease in the wildand directed towards the total elimination of the disease. In particular,the objectives are:
• Raising the compliance levels of pig farms;• Keep fighting against illegal free ranging farming;• Increase in supervision of traceability across the entire production chain
(animal handling, derived products and by-products);• Checks on ports and airports;• Control on wild population, through active and passive surveillance, in
particular in areas at high risk;
