The Zephyrs won three of four in Texas and have won seven of their last nine games. The Zephyrs head west to Colorado Springs for the second time in 12 days to open a four game set with the Sky Sox. The Z’s split a four game series in The Springs on May 15-18. The Z’s are 5-7 against the Sox this year, this is the final series between the clubs. YESTERDAY’S NEWS – PCL home-run leader Brad Snyder drilled a home run in his third consecutive game to give him a league leading 16 long-balls in a 12- 4 win over the Zephyrs. Snyder’s two run shot in the first started the Express day. Round Rock added a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to extend their lead to 5-0. The Z’s started a comeback and trailed 5-3 when the Express offense busted loose with a five run seventh. JP Arencibia was 2x4 with a home run and four RBI to snap a four game skid for Round Rock. THE TRIP – The Zephyrs outscored the Express 36-25 and won three of four in Round Rock. The Zephyrs batted .316 in the series. NOLA is batting .333 in eight games against the Express scoring 71 runs an average of 8.87 runs per game. The Zephyrs are batting .255 on the season averaging 4.61 runs per game. ON THE HILL – Brian Flynn will make his team leading 12 th start of the season. Flynn was impressive on Monday pitching eight shut-out innings in a 3-0 shut-out win over the first place Nashville Sounds. Flynn has made two starts this season against the Sox and is 1-0, working 12 shut-out innings allowing four hits and striking out seven. Flynn is 3-1 this season with a 1.95 ERA in six starts on the road. Flynn also made a better than average start against the Sox last year pitching 7 shut-out innings allowing three hits with 6K. GOING STREAKING – Jake Marisnick was 1x3 with a run scored last night to extend his season-best hitting streak to 12 games, the second-longest streak for a Zephyr this season behind Justin Bour’s season-opening 14-gamer. Marisnick had one multiple hit game in the first 10 games of the streak, but he is now 16x41 (.390) during that stretch with six of his team-leading 11 stolen bases. He also has at least one hit in 17 of his last 20 games, batting .324 (24x74). HOT ROD – Josh Rodriguez was 0x3 last night with a run scored and snapped a season-high nine game hit streak. Rodriguez hit .333 (13x39) during the streak with his first home run since 5/11 at Omaha, two doubles, six RBI and seven runs scored. JORDANY’S WORLD – Jordany Valdespin has hit safely in nine of his last ten games and in 20 of 24 games since joining the Zephyrs. 2014 SEASON LAST START – Flynn responded from the shortest start of his career to tie his longest with 8.0 shutout innings in a 3-0 win against Nashville on 5/26 at Zephyr Field. Flynn allowed four hits and walked one while striking out three batters for his fifth win of the season and third in his last five starts. He has held the Sounds to one run in 14.0 innings in his two starts against them this season. ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH – Flynn will face the Colorado Springs Sky Sox for the third time this season and the second time in 16 days. He held the Sky Sox scoreless on two hits in 6.0 innings in an 8-2 Zephyrs win on 5/15 at Colorado Springs, which is identical to the line he posted against them on 4/3 in the Opening Night game at Zephyr Field.
