Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Lampung juga mencatat bahwa pada tahun 2005 2006 jumlah penderita diabetes melitus mengalami peningkatan 12% dari periode sebelumnya yaitu sebanyak 6.256.3,4Banyak orang menggunakan madu dan gula aren sebagai pengganti gula pasir padahal madu dan gula aren sama-sama dapat meningkatkan gula darah.Oleh karena uraian di atas, penulis merasa perlu untuk melakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan perbedaan kadar glukosa darah pada pemberian gula aren, gula pasir dan madu pada tikus putih jantan.
