Caprari triples compact pump capacityCaprari Pumps has tripled the
capacity of its compact pumps
from 60 to 180 kW. The company
has also extended the pumps’
configuration to 60 Hz.
The increase in performance range
gives capacity values up to 800 l/s
and dynamic head values of up to
65 m. The new single and double
channel hydraulics comply with
the requirements of large
wastewater treatment plants.
Caprari says that the pumps are
now compliant with the ATEX
directives CEI/EN60079-0 and
CEI/EN60079-1 for the company’s
K+ series motors with power
ratings of up to 32 kW/2 poles
for sewage applications requiring
explosion-proof pumps.
The K+ ATEX electric pumps can
now be used at an ambient/fluid
temperature of up to 60°C after
company assessment of the
application and can be controlled
by a variable speed drive (VSD) if
the user complies with the condi-
tions indicated in the operation
and maintenance manual.
The pump motor is class F with
class H double insulation windings
and class T4 average temperature.
It offers ultra-cooled motors (low
running temperature) and hence
long service life and high energy
efficiency, Caprari says.
The pump features an optimised
oil chamber which can help
reduce the actual quantity of
lubricant. Bio-compatible
coatings and recyclable materials
are available.
The pumps are suitable for
purifying civil and industrial
wastewater, supplying surface
water for irrigation and industrial
water and water reclamation,
amongst other applications.

New Mach waterjet seriesFlow International Corp, a
manufacturer of ultrahigh pressure
waterjet technology, has
developed three new lines of
waterjet cutting machines.
The new Mach lines of waterjet
pumps have improved software
upgrades and ultrahigh pressures
rated up to 94,000 psi.
The Mach 4 Series is designed for
flat material and 3D material
cutting. It features a HyperJet 94
94,000 psi intensifier pump and
FlowXpert waterjet cutting
software, which optimizes cutting
speeds based on a variety of
user-defined parameters such as
desired edge finish, material
thickness, and material type. The
Mach 3 features a HyPlex Hybrid
60,000 psi pump and the
Dynamic Waterjet high-produc-
tion/taper control system with
±10 degrees of wrist motion for
use on flat material cutting. The
Mach 2 Series are economical
machines and feature a JetPlex
55,000 psi direct drive pump and
a Paser ECL cutting system.

Small gas version for hazardous areasAir Dimensions Inc (ADI) has
introduced a smaller version of its
ADI Dia-Vac gas pump with
Division 2 certification for use in
hazardous areas. The new pump
offers flows up to 21 SLPM in a
single head or 36 SLPM with a
dual head option. It can reach a
vacuum of 26 InHg and
maximum pressure up to 30 PSIG.
The pump can be installed in any
position as long as it is properly
supported and is available with an
elevated head option for installa-
tion into a heated enclosure. This
elevated head configuration allows
the motor to remain at ambient
temperature, while the head
maintains the temperature above
the dew point of the sample gas,
preventing condensation from a
cold spot in the head chamber.
The Mini Dia-Vac can be used in
sample temperatures up to 200°C.
ADI's diaphragm pump comes
with a Div 2 motor which can be
wired for 115 or 230 V power at 60
and 50 Hz frequency. The pump is
also available in corrosion resistant
materials such as Teflon, aluminium
and hastelloy.

Metal cutting with high pressure jetsKMT Waterjet Systems Inc has
developed a 90,000 PSI/6.200 bar,
125 HP pump.
The KMT Streamline PRO 125
UHP includes dual head cutting
with .011 orifice or single head
cutting with .016 orifice. It uses
the largest orifice in the water jet
industry to achieve maximum
performance cutting steel,
titanium, and aluminium.
