New Low-Maintenance, Eco-Friendly Salt-Free Water Softening and Filtration Solution a Success in Central Florida

Mike Scott Plumbing, Ocala Winsupply and Enviro Water Products Team Up to Provide Customers with a Clear Solution that Delivers for Everyone’s Bottom Line

Homeowners often ask trusted plumbing contractors for advice on their homes’ water softening and filtration systems, and most contractors are happy to share their knowledge and expertise to help steer them toward the best solution for their individual needs. With that in mind, when Enviro Water Products recently introduced its new Combo System, a complete whole-house water treatment solution that filters out chemicals as well as eliminates the negative effects of hard water without the use of salt, they worked to develop a partnership with their local supplier and contractor to help successfully launch the product by leaning on the trusted contractor to provide insights to the homeowner.

Although more than 85 percent of U.S. households have hard water, which can potentially destroy plumbing pipes and fixtures as well as shorten the life of water-using appliances, Florida is widely known to have some of the hardest water of any state, especially in the Southeast region. Many Florida residents seek a water softening solution in their home to ensure it is protected from potential damage due to scale. Since Enviro Water Products is a Florida-based company, they started in their own backyard by partnering with local contractor Mike Scott Plumbing of Wildwood and area supplier Ocala Winsupply.

Enviro Water Products National Sales Director, Laura Schaefer, led the effort and worked to set up the initial meeting between the three organizations. As the area experts, the team from Mike Scott Plumbing considered a variety of softening and filtration solutions to share with their customers, but determined that Enviro Water Product’s wide array of benefits was the ideal solution for both the homeowner and the environment. The three organizations then worked together to develop the plan to introduce Enviro Water Product’s comprehensive solution to the 56,000+ residents of The Villages, a community located northwest of Orlando and known as central Florida’s “Friendliest Hometown.” Considered to be one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the U.S., The Villages’ preferred professional plumbing contractor, Mike Scott Plumbing, has plumbed 80 – 90 percent of the homes within the community and is viewed as the go-to expert in the area.

The PlanEnviro Water Products, Mike Scott Plumbing and Ocala Winsupply would work together to build homeowner awareness around the benefits of installing Enviro Water Products Combo System within homes in The Villages. The Combo System provides a high-quality whole home water softening and filtration solution that protects against contaminants, sediment and scale build-up, with a substantial savings to the homeowner over the lifetime of the product.

In partnership Enviro Water Products and Mike Scott Plumbing created an eye-catching print ad insert in the local newspaper, The Daily Sun, to showcase the Combo System. The ad shared Mike Scott’s plumbing contact info and the benefits of the Enviro Water Products Combo System noting that it does not require any electricity while providing better than bottled water from every tap in the house. Enviro’s Combo System impacts a homeowner’s water in two primary ways:

1) provides bottled-water quality from every tap as it filters a range of contaminants and potential impurities such as chlorine, chloramines, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals and industrial solvents and,

2) uses Enviro’s NaturSoft® technology: a proven, third-party-tested salt-free softening/descaling technology that wastes no water and provides a low-maintenance (no hauling or refilling salt required), cost-saving option for the homeowner that is guaranteed to last a lifetime. Before the ad ran on Saturday, October 11th, the team worked together to host in-depth trainings with each trainee receiving a copy of a local water report, a list of contaminants that the carbon filter addressed, homeowner leave-behind literature, a detailed brochure and Q&A quick guides. Also, Mike Scott Plumbing ensured they had a dedicated phone line and their highly-trained staff ready to answer the homeowners’ questions.

The ResultsWhen the ad ran on Saturday, October 11th, in The Daily Sun, landing on 16,000 residents’ doorsteps, the team quickly received inquiries from 10 local homeowners.

Following the initial insert Mike Scott Plumbing has now run an ad in The Daily Sun every other week and after each ad they noted an uptick in estimates and installs.

From the first ad to today more than 75 units have been installed as retrofits and within that specific division at Mike Scott Plumbing noted the company has seen an uptick in sales of more than 60 percent.
