SPIRIT Last week we heard that, following the Ascension, the disciples, Mary, and other followers of the Lord retreated to the upper room in prayer. This week we hear that, while praying in that room, the Holy Spirit comes upon them. Jesus' post-Resurrection promise, recounted in today's Gospel, is fulfilled: the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon Jesus' followers. Saint Paul tells us that all of us, in some way, are given gifts of the Holy Spirit, gifts that can be used to spread the Good News. Today is one of the Church's greatest festivals. Let us carry the refrain of the responsorial psalm with us throughout the coming week: "Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth!" (Psalm 104:30).

St. Francis Diner Volunteers

It is Sacred Heart’s turn to serve at St. Francis Diner at 1201 S. Hopkins Street on Friday,

June 9th beginning at 10:30am. The blessings you receive for volunteering your time to

those in need are priceless!

Summer Religion

Please drop off your child in the circular driveway behind the parish hall between 7:45 and 8:00am. All children MUST be picked up by 12:15 pm. Please do not drop of your child without an adult outside in the circle driveway.

Classes will resume on: Monday, June 5 8:00 am till noon Tuesday, June 6 8:00 am till noon Wednesday, June 7 8:00 am till noon Thursday, June 8 8:00 am till noon Thursday, June 8 will be the last day of summer religion. There will be a closing Mass at 11:00 am. All parents and grandparents are invited to attend this Mass. Any questions pertaining to summer religion, please call Robin at the office. Choir News!!!

An opportunity will soon be upon us. We will be able to offer our God-given talents to his service. The Sacred Heart Church Choir is always looking for new members. Pentecost and the Ministry Fair will be a good time to commit to the choir. We would love to have new voices. If you don’t want to sing we would like more musicians.

Presently, we are in search of 1 or 2 persons to be our sound engineer. We would need these persons during our Thursday evening practices as well and dedication is a must. If you are interested please come and visit us after Mass or at our Thursday 6:30pm practice. You can also sign up at the Ministry Fair.

Please pray about this and consider joining our choir.

Survivor of Suicide Support Group

The death of a loved one is never easy and grief is experienced differently for everyone. The Jacob Crouch Suicide Prevention Services and the Office of Marriage and Family Life are forming a support group especially tailored for survivors of suicide. This group will provide a safe place for those who have lost a loved one to suicide to share their struggles, experiences, and pain as they struggle to regain hope and strength. The group will be facilitated by a licensed counselor and is open to all survivors of suicide over the age of 18.
