Vol. 17 No. 22 SHARE THE HOPE
The readings for today's celebration of the Ascension of the Lord once again remind us that as Christians we are people of hope. In the second reading Saint Paul eloquently exhorts the Ephesians to enlighten their hearts so that they will know the hope and glory that come from being people who place their trust in the Lord Jesus. In the story of the Ascension, recounted in the first reading, the Lord Jesus assures the disciples that the Holy Spirit's power will come upon them. Finally, in the Gospel, the Lord lets the disciples know that their mission is to spread the hope of the gospel to all the nations. This wonderful feast keeps our eyes focused on the hope in which we were grounded on the day of our baptism.

29th Choir News!!!
An opportunity will soon be upon us. We will be able to offer our God-given talents to his service. The Sacred Heart Church Choir is always looking for new members. Pentecost and the Ministry Fair will be a good time to commit to the choir. We would love to have new voices. If you don’t want to sing we would like more musicians.
Presently, we are in search of 1 or 2 persons to be our sound engineer. We would need these persons during our Thursday evening practices as well and dedication is a must. If you are interested please come and visit us after Mass or at our Thursday 6:30pm practice. You can also sign up at the Ministry Fair.
Please pray about this and consider joining our choir.

Stewardship: Are You Using God’s gifts to do God’s Works?
A Stewardship Moment In today’s Gospel, Jesus charges his followers to “make disciples of all nations.” What exactly is going on here? What is this Great Commission anyway? Good stewards know they are directed to share what they exercise stewardship over: their life of faith in Christ Jesus. They know Jesus didn’t direct them to go to church and to keep quiet about it; or to go out into the neighborhood, workplace or marketplace and just be nice. Christ’s Good News is meant to be shared. Many people in our com munities don’t know about Jesus Christ. Does that bother us? Do we care? Do we realize we are supposed to do something about it
