AmeriHaas/Dead Sea Bromine fire retardant agreement Through an arrangement with the Dead Sea Bromine Group and Dead Sea Periclase, AmeriHaas will offer commercial quantities of several grades of magnesium hydroxide (FR-20), which allows production of non- halogen, low-smoke, flame-retarded thermoplastics without high filler loadings. Available in several coated versions and an uncoated version, FR-20 also provides improved flowability and colour maintenance by keeping its crystal aspect ratios within a narrowly defined range. Air Products’ extensive line of polyurethane additives are now grouped with other high- performance speciality chemicals, while the company’s polyurethane intermediates business will be merged with other high- volume specification chemicals. Air Products’ polyurethane additives business, including silicone surfactants, catalysts, release agents, sprayable concentrates and its polyurethane prepolymers business, are now part of the new Polyurethane and Performance Chemical Division.
