Training is extremely important

Department of Environmental Management October 2014

When selecting a vendor, ask if they will provide trainingto your employees in basic HHW skills like identification, blending, packaging, labeling, PPE, safe handling, etc.

SWANA offers a HHW/CESQG certification course. HAZWOPRtraining is also beneficial, but not required.

You will need to develop an Operations Plan as part of yourpermit application, and the local fire district will require you to have spill and fire prevention and response plans on file.
