Camp Open House | June 21, 2020 Girls in Grades K-12 Come out to camp this Father’s Day to enjoy our summer activities and learn about camp! You will have an opportunity to take a tour of camp and meet the staff, while enjoying the rockwall, pool, horses, archery, arts and crafts, hamburgers, hot dogs and more! Where: Camp Conowingo Cost: $5 per person except dads, who get in free! Whether you’re a first-time camper or a veteran seeking new adventures, you’ll find fun, friendship and memories to last a lifetime! Our summer resident and day camps offer a wide variety of options for all girls that include themed specialty activities as well as traditional camp activities. Girl Scout Camps feature unique leadership opportunities where girls build 21st century life skills that help them become leaders of tomorrow. They discover how to be independent and self-reliant, connect with others individually and as a team, and learn ways to take action to protect the planet’s natural resources. Girl Scouts is proud to be the premier leadership organization for girls in our country. Girl Scouts of Central Maryland camps are open to youths who are recognized as girls by the family and school/community and who live culturally as a girl. During this week, girls will examine the science behind the seed, explore environmental impacts of our food supply, and delve into the impact of food on our health and lives. Girls will spend time germinating seeds, propagating plants, harvesting crops and transforming our harvest into delectable dishes.

Conowingo Chillin' Session 1

Relax while learning tips and techniques for taking care of yourself. Girls will pamper themselves by turning their unit into a camp spa! Listen to soothing music, learn about healthy eating, make natural beauty products, do yoga and more. Girls will also spend time enjoying camp activities like crafts, hikes and campfires. $425 before February 13 $450 after February 13

Trail Blazers Session 1 & 6

Horse crazy? This is the program for you! Improve your abilities to mount, dismount, lead, walk, trot and turn your horse on command. You will spend half the day at the barn learning ground and ring skills. When you are not on horseback, you will have time for swimming, arts, nature and sports! You might even get to go on a trail ride! (All outdoor riding is weather and skills-dependent). Riders must have previous riding experience. $485 before February 13 $515 after February 13

Guppy Gulch Sessions 1, 3 & 6

Enjoy spending your days at the gulch trying extreme water activities like riding the kayak luge, snorkeling with aquatic life, zip lining into the beautiful quarry water, climbing the floating wall and tons more. Then, spend the night at the gulch relaxing with your group and preparing for the next day’s adventures. When your trip is over, come back to Conowingo and enjoy all of your favorite camp activities! $580 before February 13 $620 after February 13

Aqua Adventures Session 2 - Mini Week

Make waves during this week of water activities. Try canoeing, creek hikes, Slip ‘n’ Slide and sprinkler games. Take a leisurely floating lunch and enjoy a sunset swim in the pool. When you are ready to dry off, spend some time at arts & crafts, climb the rockwall or maybe try your hand at archery. $355 before February 13 $360 after February 13

Backcountry Adventure Session 2 - Mini Week

Spend one night in platform tents then spend another night in our hammocks before heading into the woods for an overnight camping adventure into the uncharted Conowingo acres. Girls will enhance their fire building skills, practice pitching a tent and learn more about Leave No Trace. This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself during this short week of outdoor adventures! (No Hiking packs needed for this program) $355 before February 13 $360 after February 13

Mix It Up! Session 2 - Mini Week

Are you ready to develop new camp skills? Take a trip to the stables for instructional horseback riding, spend a morning learning the basics of archery and go canoeing in the Conowingo Lagoon. Challenge yourself to get through all the elements in our new aerial high ropes course. After all of this, relax and enjoy some traditional camp activities including swimming, arts & crafts and hiking. $330 before February 13 $355 after February 13

Conowingo CSI Session 3 Grab your police tape and magnifying glass and use your detective skills to perform a camp scene investigation! Use science, technology and your intuition to analyze clues, examine fingerprints, question witnesses and decode a secret message that might lead you to a thief! When you need a break from saving the day, visit the pool for a swim, climb the rockwall or try a new tie-dye pattern in arts and crafts. $450 before February 13 $480 after February 13

Goblet of Camp Fire Session 3 Try your hand at potions & charms, experience Quidditch camp-style, make wands and participate in wizard duels as Conowingo transforms into Hogwarts! Take a break to watch a Harry Potter movie with some popcorn and participate in your favorite camp activities like swimming, campfires and more! $465 before February 13 $495 after February 13

iKayak Session 4 You will start your adventure by learning all the basics of kayaking on flat water, including rescue and safety techniques and paddle strokes. Then you will go off camp to enjoy the panoramic views as you paddle and explore local waterways. If your arms need a rest, you can relax and participate in other camp activities such as arts and crafts and swimming. $495 before February 13 $530 after February 13

H2O Explosion Session 4

This week is all about the amphibious life, and girls will do just about everything but sleep in the water! Pack up a picnic and have a floating lunch on the Conowingo Creek, canoe on the lagoon and enjoy the giant Slip’n’Slide. Team up for the best water balloon contest of the summer. Go on a creek hike, swim twice a day and even take an evening sunset float! $450 before February 13 $480 after February 13

Rocks, Ropes & Rappelling Session 4

Spend adventure-filled days at Rocks State Park learning knot tying, belaying techniques, climbing movements and having a total blast! At the end of the day, cool off in the pool and relax around the campfire with your new friends. $570 before February 13 $610 after February 13

Zombie Invasion Session 5

Imagine this: your small band of campers is all that’s left of civilization. Will you survive? See how you fare as you learn how to hide in the woods, identify edible plants, purify water, build a shelter and more. Be careful, zombies are lurking! $460 before February 13 $490 after February 13

Theater in the Woods Session 5

Dress up for an evening at the Dutch Apple Theater and watch a performance of your favorite Disney aqua princess–The Little Mermaid! Back at camp, perform your own short play at the Conowingo Creativity Show! There will be time to take a break from play practice and enjoy the great outdoors and other camp activities. $560 before February 13 $599 after February 13

Cast Iron Chef: Season TEN Session 5

Try new cuisines, cook epic meals and learn new techniques to become Conowingo’s TENTH Cast Iron Chef! You will face challenges and mystery ingredients that you must use in your dish, which will be judged by camp staff! At the end of the week, you'll host a culinary tasting tour in hopes of winning the Cast Iron Chef title. And when you’re not in competition, cool off in the pool and enjoy other camp activities. $455 before February 13 $485 after February 13

Holiday at Harpers Ferry Session 5

After a night at Camp Conowingo you’ll travel to Harpers Ferry for camping in Maple Tree Campground’s tree houses, hiking along the Appalachian Trail, tubing on a nearby river, exploring shops and restaurants in Harpers Ferry and relaxing with new friends. Afterwards, it’s back to Conowingo for the all-camp activity on Thursday night. $575 before February 13 $615 after February 13

Conowingo and the Olympians Session 6

Come to camp and hone your hero skills in preparation for your next big quest. See if you've got the gifts of Apollo at the archery range, let Demeter teach you about edible plants, and fly high with Hermes on the flying squirrel. Impress Dionysus with some pizza party fun and play trivia games to test your knowledge of Greek mythology. $465 before February 13 $495 after February 13

Bull’s Eye! Session 7

Take aim with your new friends during this week-long archery session. You will start with target practice before advancing to fun games like paint archery & distance competitions created by you! You can even take time to relax and enjoy other fun camp activities like arts and crafts, hiking and campfires. $450 before February 13 $480 after February 13

Best-o-Wingo Session 7

Can't decide on a program? No worries - you can do it all, from corral rides to archery and canoeing! Challenge yourself 40 feet in the air on the new aerial challenge course and climb the rock wall. Pennsylvania Expedition Session 7

Spend your nights at camp, and your days exploring Pennsylvania Dutch Country. You’ll tour a farm, learn about Amish culture, take a buggy ride, see how pretzels are made, eat ice cream at the Strasburg Creamery, ride roller coasters at Hersheypark and more! $495 after February 13 $635 after February 13

Choose Your Own Session 8

This week, the choice is YOURS - you and your group will choose from all the activities Conowingo has to offer! You could be rock climbing in the morning, canoeing in the afternoon and horseback riding into the early evening. Or, you could be on the new ropes course for a while, take a break in the pool and then do arts and crafts. It is up to you to create your own adventure this week! $475 before February 13 $505 after February 13

Conowingo’s Dungeons & Dragons Session 8

You and your camp friends will learn the basics of Dungeons and Dragons. You’ll make a character sheet and go on a quest where you will discover how to defeat all types of monsters using teamwork. When you aren’t at the gaming table, you'll participate in live-action role play with props you create, plus enjoy your favorite camp activities! $455 before February 13 $485 after February 13

Project Funway Session 8

Get ready for the runway as you learn to make your own line of trash bag dresses and jewelry made of the finest things found in nature. You will also make your own candles, perfect your scrapbooking skills and make your own lip-gloss. At the end of the week, display all your pieces at the Camp Conowingo gallery for all to see! When you need a break, no worries, you can head over to the pool, ropes course or just enjoy nature! $460 before February 13 $490 after February 13

CadettesGirl ScoutCadettesGirl Scout Cadettes’ days will be split into sessions, with girls rotating through activity sessions as a group. In addition to their program theme activity all girls will have the opportunity to experience core camp activities that include swimming, arts and crafts, campfires, nature exploration and more. Each camper will be sent home with information detailing badge and Journey-related activities completed during the week.

Riding Camp Sessions 3, 5 & 7 | For girls in grades 4-12
