Kindergarten Enrolment for 2018

We are now taking enrolments for our Kindergarten class for

2018. Please come and get an enrolment form from the office.

Also, if you know anyone with Kindergarten aged children, please

encourage them to consider our school. Our ‘Kinder Steps’

orientation program has started, with a number of smiling

students attending. This program is open to all students starting

Kindergarten next year, so feel welcome to come along.

Year 6 Graduation

Our Year 6 graduation ceremony and dinner will be held on

Thursday 7th December at the RS Club. Invitations were handed

out last Friday. Please have these returned by Friday 1st

December. The ceremony has been slightly changed this year

with a more formal feel, with Year 6 parents invited to attend the

dinner and ceremony. For some parents, it is the last time they

will be a part of the FPS family, being their last child graduating

from our school. Our Year 6 Parents have played a vital role in

their child’s education and we as a school are recognising this

through including them in this very important event.

High School Parent Information Session

Finley High School are holding an Information Night for parents of

children starting Year 7 in 2018. Details are as follows:

Time: 6pm – 7pm

2018 Classes We are currently working on class structures for 2018. If you are moving away from Finley at the end of the

year and your child will not be attending Finley Public School in 2018, could you please advise the school office

as soon as possible. Also if you know of any families moving into the Finley zone and will be attending our

school next year, please let us know as grade numbers have a significant impact on the formation of classes.

School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS)

Does your child travel on a bus?

Will your child need school bus travel in 2018? Have you moved house or has your child changed schools? Have you changed your phone number? These are all reasons to either update your details or apply for school bus travel. It is a simple online process that needs to be completed prior to starting school in 2018. Thank you for a great year of School Banking.

We would like to thank all of our students who have participated in the CommBank School Banking program this year. Our final School Banking day for 2017 will be Wednesday 6th December. If your child is eligible to order a reward item please ensure that the reward coupon is completed and returned prior to the 6th December. Any tokens that have not been redeemed this year can be used in 2018.

P & C NEWS HELP NEEDED

We will be running the Canteen at the Round Robin on Friday 24th November. Helpers are needed, if you can spare 1 or more hours to help it would be greatly appreciated. Please give me a call if you can assist.

POSITIONS VACANT

The P&C have 2 positions currently vacant, The Vice President and Secretaries positions. These positions are to be filled until the P&C AGM in March 2018. Support will be given to the person who is appointed these roles. The role of the vice president is to support the president and other committee members as well as to the school. Responsibilities: You may be called upon to relieve the P&C president in their absence. The role of the P&C Secretary is primarily to ensure the business matters of the Association are clearly and fully documented and are made available to the school community. ... Circulate the minutes within the Executive Committee and school community. To be eligible to stand for a Executive position you have to be a current financial member of the P&C . Once you have paid your gold coin membership you can then be considered for the position at the next P&C meeting. Your envolvement in our School makes a huge difference in your children's education.
