Directors Message

by April Kahnberg

March 1st is closely moving in and the BCR members have reveiwed their club options for the year and have set up the calendar. See results of the Planning Brunch on Feb 20 in this newsletter and mark your calendars.

Many of the same events, as well as, some new ideas and opportunities were shared that day with other members of the club.

I, for one, am looking forward to a few trips to the bay area. We managed to get the Academy of Arts Automobile Museum, Octagon House and a Porker Run on the calendar this year. Which should be lots of fun.

Next year we need to have the Planning Brunch in January, as Feb 1st is the Deadline for American Graffiti and was one of our events selected by the club members this year. But Feb 20th is already too late to register and CONFIRM that your registration will go thru until closer to the event date. Makes it really hard to confirm going as a group.

We will have to rethink an event for May 2016.

Fathers Day June 19 - Julliard Park - ECA has sent out applications Feb 25 via email.

Richard - forwarded our email to all BCR members (Feb 26) so everyone should have an email for application to this event.

MINUTES OF THE BUICK CLUB OF THE REDWOODS

FEBRUARY 10, 2016 MEETING

The meeting of the Buick Club of the Redwoods was called to order by Director April Kahnberg at 6:55pm.

Those present were Rich and April Kahnberg, Rusty Tucker, Ben Karnes, Stan Sollid, Keith Brumbley, Don

and Lois Brooner.

Rich gave the treasurer's report which included payments for stamps for the Secretary and Treasurer and

payment for the meat part of the club Christmas dinner.

He also reported that we now have a total of 19 paid memberships.

OLD BUSINESS

April reported that the club outing to the Santa Rosa Museum was enjoyed by those attending. After the tour

of the museum, members went to Willie Bird's Restaurant for a delicious lunch. Pictures and more information

are available in the newsletter.

Rich reported that he and Bill Costello had visited the Santa Rosa Junior College. Rich presented a check in

the amount of $400.00 from Buick Club of the Redwoods to Cliff Norton who is the head of the technology

department. The money will be used to buy two Snap-on Tool torque wrenches, 50 lb and 100 lb with flex-

handles. Pictures of the presentation will be sent to the Nailhead News.

It was brought to our attention that a former member of our club disagrees with our vote to no longer keep the

monthly newsletters password protected. Discussion followed. The members again voted unanimously to not

have newsletters password protected.

NEW BUSINESS

April reminded everyone of the club planning meeting brunch scheduled for February 20th. She has sent an

evite to everyone so that members can indicate what they prefer to bring for the brunch. She also commented

that all members are welcome and encouraged to make suggestions and/or host any club event.

She let us know there has been email chatter concerning the location of the 2018 BCA Meet. She was asked,

as Director of our club, to estimate how many of our members might attend a meet if it were held in southern

California She replied that 6 of our members attended the meet in Portland so the estimate would be 6-9

members.

April received a call from 209 area code about the sale of a 1950 Roadmaster for "body-parts." She will send

an email to club members with the information.

April and Rich presented our club flag with the addition of a small flag that included embroidery "Santa Rosa,

CA, Sonoma County, Est 1998", which looks very smart. Members voted to reimburse them for the small

expenditure. It happens that the place that they had the work done for the flag was also the same place the

club had purchased our embroidered patches...Monograms Plus of Santa Rosa...some years ago. Discussion

followed about ordering patches again.

April handed out a "car-nut calendar" to everyone in preparation for our up-coming planning meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 pm. Rusty won the raffle of $15.00.

Respectfully submitted by

Lois Brooner for Joan Costello, Secretary
