NexentaVSA for View (NV4V) is a software solution that combines

Nexenta's 3rd generation NAS/SAN storage appliance with a powerful VDI

deployment/management server. NV4V is designed to inter-operate

seamlessly with VMware vCenter and View servers.

NexentaVSA for View

The product is bundled into two virtual machines (OVF images).

NV4V is designed from ground up to absorb and hide the complexity of

deploying and managing virtual desktop datacenters. The product provides

fully automated, GUI-driven VDI provisioning, re-calibration of existing

desktop pools, I/O acceleration, performance graphics and analytics, built-in

snapshots, and replication. It is a massively scalable, turn-key VDI solution.

Replicated HA Replicated High Availability (RHA) service periodically and incrementally replicates all desktop pools

in a given ESXi Cluster. Frequency of RHA backups can be selected based on your recovery point

objectives (RPO).

Manual failover / failback of an entire ESXi Cluster or an individual ESXi host(s) to a remote

NexentaStor appliance

Failover operation - the replicated desktops run from a replication destination (remote

NexentaStor )

Failback is the reverse operation – that returns the desktop pool to the original storage

Use RHA failover to perform maintenance operations on the ESXi hosts, e.g.: replace faulted

disks

NexentaVSA for View

External Storage NV4V supports virtual (VSA based) and external (bare metal

based) storage, multiple automated storage deployment options (including

all-flash). External storage can either be Nexenta’s own storage appliance or

a 3rd party NAS. For local storage the product automatically provisions and

deploys NexentaStors as VSAs – one Virtual Storage Appliance per VMware

ESXi host per pool of virtual desktop.

NexentaVSA for View bundles VDI management appliance and enterprise-

grade storage appliance, and provides for rapid VDI provisioning, local ZFS-based

snapshots and integrated remote replication, replicated HA (RHA), resource and

storage re-calibration to further optimize performance, I/O acceleration, performance

monitoring and graphics - both hypervisor view and storage appliance view, DTrace

based analytics, and more.

NexentaVSA for View

NV4V is tightly integrated with VMware vSphere 5.1 and supports all

VMware View 5.1 features. Virtual desktop options include Microsoft Windows XP,

Vista, 7 and 8.
