2014 in Review

On behalf of 80+ VC firms

in New England, we:

Celebrate deals, exits, and rising stars

Connect VCs and entrepreneurs

Engage students in our portfolio companies

Advocate for policies that unleash innovation

Here are a few

highlights from 2014…

Celebrate deals, exits, and rising stars

The 2nd annual NEVY Awards

brought together over 700 of

Boston's leading tech and

healthcare innovators for a night of

celebration unlike anything else in

town. In true rock star fashion, we

celebrated the rising stars and living

legends who are building game

changing companies.

Save the date for the next NEVY

Awards: May 13th at the House of

Blues!

Connect VCs and entrepreneursUnpitch has become a symbol of the

Boston startup community’s

permeability. Investors provide

lunch and mentorship to

entrepreneurs from as far away as

Seattle in a no-pressure approach

that has begun to catch on nationally.

Our signature parties, such as the

Last Gasp of Summer on the rooftop

at Commonwealth, bring together

curated crowds of entrepreneurs

and investors to talk shop over craft

cocktails and seasonal snacks.

Engage students in our portfolio companies

We’ve launched www.hireMAstudents.com,

a one-stop shop for startups looking to

hire interns or recent graduates from the

incredible crop of colleges and universities

right in our backyard.

Meet Sarah Sherburne, our third full-time

staff member, whose mission it is to drive

hundreds of students into internships in

the startup community and more lastingly

integrate those interns into the ecosystem.

Advocate for policies that unleash innovation

In just 90 days’ time, we

conducted a major awareness-

raising campaign that forced

noncompete reform to the

forefront of the most recent

legislative session. Believing

that noncompetes push talent

out of the state and slow

innovation, we’re gearing up to

kick off another campaign

aimed at banning noncompete

agreements in Massachusetts

during the 2015-2016 session.
