The colour palette consists of shades of coral, orange, indigo, blue, white and classic black. The rich story of hand-woven garment is beautifully fused withneo-chic cuts and technical textiles like jersey and PVC for the rangethat redefined sports and traditional wear."The highpoint of the range is that it is not specific to any occasion. One can wear it anywhere and anytime. collection, with the garments inblue, red and mustard, some withgypsy prints in patchwork onthem, denoted just that. Eventhough the colours were bright, the overall appearance wasnever loud because the designswere airy and summery, like thetunics, the salwar pants and thegilets. Payal also said she wasinspired by 18th century Chintzprinting.Dev r NilA collection called BreakingFree, "for the woman who wantsa sense of freedom in what shewears" - inspired by art decotile patterns and nouveau printillusions. The designs weretheir usual - silhouettes, saris, jackets and palazzos. The floralpatterns added a newdimension, along with theembroidery. Interesting bid forfreedom, even though thejackets screamed rigidstructure.
SanchitaThe light blue, grey and blackwould've been more apt for amenswear line, but Sanchitawoman-ed it up with a touch ofglitter and shimmer, and thecuts. Later, she told us it was acollection full of feminineromanticism amid malesovereignty. And so, muslin, denim and silk became shirtdresses, tunics, andasymmetrical shirts. Some outfitshad been handpainted, too.Zubair KirmaniZubair Kirmani presented a funcollection, with ornamentationkept to the bare minimal. Thatlet the light handloom fabricsstand out for their weft andweave, and let the cuts of thepantsuit, the dresses and skirtsshow their contemporarytreatment. There was a hint ofhand embroidery, with the easyon the eyes colours of blue andwhite dominating the show.

HOW TO KEEP YOUREYES HEALTHY
Regular eye checkup: It is amazing how people will service the car ormotorbike regularly but do not think of servicing the eyes. And eyecheckup does not refer only to a spectacle number check done casually inan optical shop. It refers to examination on a slit microscope followed by an eyepressure check for glaucoma, with a detailed retinal examination.Eye strain during reading: The book should be well lighted , but thearea surrounding the book should also be well lit . Reading in a darkroom leads to eye strain. Ideally the light should come over your leftshoulder. When you concentrate hard , the blink rate of the eye dropssignificantly. This leads to blurring and defused vision. Blink frequentlywhen you study for long periods of time.Computer care: Position the computer screen/ laptop so that you arenot looking at the screen straight on. Eyes are designed to work in aposition of depressed convergence, ( ie looking down and in. ). Thetop of the screen should not be higher than your eyes. The brightnessof the screen should be the same intensity of the lighting of the sur-roundings. Try and scheduled your study sessions early morning ratherthan late night it induces far less strain. And remember to take a 5 minbreak after every 40 min of reading.Contact lens care: If you are into contact lenses which is perfectlyokay, be sure to select a good manufacturer.Clean lenses twice a daywith the advised solutions regularly. Adhere to your lens schedules .A monthly wear disposable is to be "disposed "in a month. If there isany redness or poking see your eye professional immediatelyAvoid smokingIt can lead to cataracts , increases risk of macular degeneration. Andcan , if combined with alcohol, lead to optic nerve disorders.

A high proteindiet that includes egg whites, lean meats, soyabeans, cheese, pulses, milk and curd is good for the hair.
Application of heat on hair through blow drying, ironing orrebonding can damage it, leading to hair fall.
Protecting your hair from sunlight is important since excessiveUV rays can cause hair damage and graying. Gentle massaging ofthe scalp increases the blood circulation and is good for hairgrowth. Avoid excessive combing of the hair as it can lead to'weathering effect' and cause split ends. Do not crash diet or starveto reduce weight as it will have a harmful effect on hair. CAREGIVERSYOGA HELPS DEMENTIA
For every Alzheimer'spatient, there is arelated victim: thecaregiver.
Spouse, son, daughter, otherrelative or friend, theloneliness, exhaustion, fearand most of all stress anddepression takes a tollWhile care for the caregiversis difficult to find, a newstudy out of UCLA suggeststhat using yoga to engage invery brief, simple dailymeditation can lead toimproved cognitivefunctioning and lower levelsof depression for caregivers.Dr. Helen Lavretsky, professorof psychiatry at the UCLASemel Institute forNeuroscience and HumanBehavior, and colleaguesreport a further benefit aswell: a reduction in stress-induced cellular aging."We know that chronic stressplaces caregivers at a higherrisk for developingdepression," said Lavretsky, who also directs UCLA'sLate-Life Depression, Stressand Wellness ResearchProgram. "On average, theincidence and prevalence ofclinical depression in familydementia caregiversapproaches 50 per cent.Caregivers are also twice aslikely to report high levels ofemotional distress."What's more, many caregiverstend to be older themselves, leading to what Lavretskycalls an "impaired resilience"to stress and an increasedrate of cardiovascular diseaseand mortality. While medication can improvedepression, many caregiversmay be opposed to the use ofmedication because of theassociated cost and drugside-effects. Thatconsideration motivatedLavretsky and her colleaguesto test a brief mind-bodyintervention for stressreduction. The researchers
At the end of the eight weeksthe researchers found that themeditation group showedsignificantly lower levels ofdepressive symptoms andgreater improvement in mentalhealth and cognitivefunctioning, compared with therelaxation group. In themeditation group, 65 per centshowed a 50 per centimprovement on a depressionrating scale, and 52 per cent ofthe group showed a 50 per centimprovement on a mentalhealth score. This compared toa 31 per cent depressionimprovement and a 19 per centmental health improvement forthe relaxation group. Theresearchers also found thatmeditation increasedtelomerase activity and thusslowed cellular aging.Telomerase is an enzyme thatmaintains the DNA at the endsof our chromosomes, known astelomeres. Telomeres areassociated with a host ofhealth risks and diseases, which may be regulated in partby psychological stress. In the absence of telomeraseactivity, every time our cellsdivide, our telomeres get shorterand shorter, until eventually, they become so short the cellsdie. If high telomerase can bemaintained or promoted, though,it will likely promoteimprovement in telomeremaintenance and immune celllongevity. In the study, themeditation group showed a 43per cent improvement intelomerase activity comparedwith 3.7 per cent in the relaxationgroup. "Although the relationbetween mental and physicalhealth has been previouslydocumented, the mechanisticlinks are beginning to beunderstood at the cellular level,"said Lavretsky."To a varying degree, manypsychosocial interventions likethis have been shown toenhance mental health forcaregivers.
recruited 49 family caregiverswho were taking care of theirrelatives with dementia. Theirages ranged from 45 to 91 yearsold and included 36 adultchildren and 13 spouses. Theparticipants were randomizedinto two groups. The meditation group wastaught a brief, 12-minute yogicpractice that included an
ancient chanting meditation,Kirtan Kriya, which wasperformed every day at thesame time for eight weeks. Theother group was asked to relaxin a quiet place with their eyesclosed while listening toinstrumental music on arelaxation CD, also for 12minutes every day at the sametime for eight weeks.
